Nope, there's no swelling. I had a gentle walk outside (its noon here) and that makes it better, although i still did have problems climbing the four or five steps (sort of stiff, the knee).

^^ Yeah, I hope Andy gives a good performance at the AO, at least reaching the semis.

I am sure you'll be fine in a few weeks, but you might wanna see a doctor just to be safe.

Like Rafa would say, the knees are delicate things, no?

If there's nothing structurally injured (bone fracture or torn ligaments), which seems to be the case if you can walk without pain, then try to find a Phiten titanium-enhanced knee sleeve. The sleeve improves circulation through the afflicted joint and keeps the area warmer and looser. I used to have terrible hamstring tendinitis that kept me from being able to jump at all. The sleeve aided me to recover flexibility in the knee so stairs were no problem and I could actuall "sky" a bit covering lobs when playing cagey doubles opponents.
They are inexpensive (under $20) and very comfortable, unlike many bulky braces with straps and metal rods.

When you are all better, try running a 5-minute mile for 2 miles only and if its too easy try 4-minute mile.:) And sir, it's not the shoes.:) Get well.

And oh I tried and I puked.

    WEEKS ! r u kiddin' me, buster. I'd go cwazy !
I intend being back on the mud in a couple days or so. I don't wanna lose conditioning and have to start over.

When i go to some store looking for shoes, I'll see. But i don't think i will find them here. Most likely I will be going to some Nike or Adidas outlet here. The general sports stores are pathetic.

I run 4 minute miles without breaking a sweat as part of my warmup. In fact, I was running 3 minute miles and checking my iphone at the same time when i tripped, took several somersaults. Luckily my iphone didn't get scratched.

Oh shame on me then for puking but I demand to know where did you buy that somersaulting iphone of yours? Bet if you throw your iphone in the furnace and retrieve it, it would still be in working condition or maybe transformed into Excalibur?:)

I asked my neighbour if there was a shop nearby, he said he'd pick up a knee sleeve on his way back from work today. He said it has some microfibers etc. Let's see what he gets if he does.

I am now thinking that it may actually take a week or two as our doomy friend suggested.

I was the one who took several summer salts. My iPhone turned into a Category 4 Kaiju and i may take some time to send it back through the breach from whence it came or else it will destroy all life on this planet.

If Nadal could be out for 7 months and come back in style, you could also be out for a few weeks, no?

As far as your iPhone surviving unscathed, that type of thing always reminds me of the punch line in The Blues Brothers' car chase scene.

A delightfully different experience for dogs and me right now...bcoz I'm staying right in the area I work I've given them a long walk along the sidewalks I normally patrol in the evening on my Rickshaw. It's very slow the week before Xmas but there's still a few pedestrians enjoying a cool, sunny afternoon today and most stop to say hello to my pals. Woof woof!

I was checking te phitenusa site and it does not mention a knee sleeve. it has knee brace, knee wrap and knee support. Could you give me a link of a pic of it so i can match it with what is here.

Try www.sportstlc.com/products/phiten then go to page 6 and the last listing is the Phiten aquatitanium knee sleeve. Price is up a bit (tsunami effect? Phiten is a Japanese firm) now $33.25. Mention me, I think you earn a discount as a referral client. Good luck!

I actually have something similar to this, although its probably not titanium or infrared etc. Will check with the stores tomorrow.

I iced the knee a bit and felt much better after that. Iced it last night before sleeping and when i woke up there was no stiffness.

You can lead a Senti to aquatitanium but you can't make him buy it. Good luck on your own!

Sentinel, I have a similar problem. I crashed my mountain bike on a trail, had a concussion, and it is hard to bend my knee. The doctor said that it is only a sprain. He said that my brain is no great loss.

During a spirited debate I was once accused of losing my mind. I countered with the rhetorical, "How can you lose something you never had?"

I think that my concussion is getting better, but I don't remember what it was like yesterday. Will I be cleared for the football game on Sunday? Do I play in the NFL? I don't think I have ever played football. Why do I bicycle on trails?

Lucid dreams unsettle me. I had many dreams last night when I was both awake and asleep. Many of them were in Copenhagen and Moscow from before I was born, and I would see flashes of women (usually beautiful) that I have never seen before.

I wondered how my mind could construct such vivid images while half-awake in what I knew was a dream. My lucid dreams usually involve observing people engaged in normal activities in varying times and places.

I am ready for lunch and just noticed a left-over cheese enchilada, rice, and beans in the refrigerator from a respected Mexican restaurant. The problem is that I bought it last Monday. It looks delicious, but is it safe?

Monday night is scheduled to be the last sporting event at Candlestick Park, barring unexpected playoff results. The Beatles played their last announced concert at the venue.

There are rumours that Paul McCartney might play the last event at Candlestick. If so, I will be there.

So on my new phone, when I enter my username it gives me the squiggly red underline and i have to log in three times before gaining thread entrance. I thought I got around this annoyance by disengaging autocorrect spelling but NOT! Any ideas???

Knee better. Was able to climb a few steps today without any pain but still a little unsure. Still icing it a couple times a day and using a knee sleeve for part of the day.

I guess by next Sunday I'll start some slow jogging.

Do you have a bike? I highly recommend rehabbing your knee with zero-impact activities...biking or swimming will get it in shape for the pounding even a slow jog will represent.

This falls squarely under the "things that make you feel old" category.

Browsing the guide on cable tonight, I noticed Palladia TV is showing a Rush concert (Clockwork Angels Tour). I thought this would be very cool to check out as I am (or at least used to be) a big fan. I happened to tune in just as they were cutting to commercial.

First commercial was for a feminine itch product marketed to older, menopausal women. Second commercial was for Bosley hair restoration marketed to older, balding men. By the time they got to the Cialis commercial it hit me like a sack of rocks:

RUSH'S TARGET AUDIENCE IS OLD, ITCHY WOMEN AND BALDING, IMPOTENT MEN!

Wow, what a slap in the face

I used to bike a lot, sometimes as much as 12 hours at a stretch in my teens. Then it became too risky. That was about 1980 or so when i used to get almost run over every day. Then i gave up cycling and started running.

Driving is insane here, no rules, no lanes, you have no way of imagining it, lol.

Nothing like Rajma-Rice for lunch. (it's some kind of red beans cooked in a sauce containing toms, onions, chillies and various other spices). Eaten with the fingers.

I had something called "100 hits" (just downloaded) playing (oldies) and coincidentally just as we started eating, it began playing Gene Kelly's Singin' in the Rain !!!

My best Xmas present...a brief moment after work when I was able to capture an illusive quality portrait of my precious TomTom cocker and then assign it to its new role as wallpaper on my iPhone. Thank you Grinch for stealing my old phone last Friday!

Now all I have to do before a full day of work again today is find our new fifth roof to hide under in the last month...the hotel manager reneged on his promise to keep us in our room during this next peak week of tourism so we're out in 26 hours. More treachery of the biped persuasion!

Stringertom, I have met some pretty bleak characters in my life, included people who would have not felt bad about my loss to the world if I was in their way.

There are beautiful women, with beautiful voices, who will blow your mind with their allegiances. Forget the Sirens who will lead you to the broken shores, and remember the many other bipeds who should be respected.

I have found yet another tiny litter in the next block (where there are many un-spayed dogs). Tiny chaps, incredibly cute. They are sitting in some bushes or junk next to a small hotel. People are giving them food according to the guards outside that hotel.

However, the number is dwindling due to being run over. Yesterday there were only two left. I have been taking pics but not sure whether i should post since i don't know if these fellers will last. They run back into their shelter when i approach.

Line 7 of B#1's lengthy (too long to quote on my iPhone's limited post recall) is not accurate...both Nadal and Federer feature alternating consonants and vowels. Sexi's first name also alternates from consonant to vowel. Goran's combo of given name and surname does continue the alternation of vowel/consonant.

Actually the entire name alternates c's and v's. In Roger's name the R and F do not alternate. You are considering only the last name.
