They just said MS won her 25th consecutive game (6-0 6-0) in both of the first two rounds. If she holds here that will be 26 consecutive games in a Grand Slam event... You think that is a record?

The crowd should keep mimicking Sharapova.

Most recent was when Wendy Turnbull did 2 double-bagels 25 years ago. Not sure on the actual record

27 games in a row for Maria. She only got 1 out of like 8-10 1st serves in too.

I just spend 5 minutes looking around online and couldn't find anything. Was Turnbull's at a Grand Slam? I sent a tweet to Pam Shriver and Patrick McEnroe so maybe they will give an answer during the match.

Really sick. How can someone be playing the third round of a tournament and yet has to lose a game?

So Turnbull was the last person to do it at a GS. She did it in Aus Open in 1985, so I guess 28 years. But she lost her next match, so I can't imagine she went 4-0 in her next match...

Just read an article at ********** that said 24 was the record so MaSha has the new record. And Turbulls was also in a Grand Slam.

Exactly... this would NEVER happen in an ATP event. And back to the never ending argument about equal pay at a GS when the first rounds of the women's bracket last about 45 minutes.

Streakapova is done at 28 games in a row, as Venus manages to hold her serve, now at 1-4. Uh, congrats, I guess?

Maybe this will turn her around and she'll stop dumping all those forehands into the net.

5 bakery sets in a row for Masha. I'm not a fan of hers, but damn, Maria is on fire. She nearly broke Venus at love to end the set.

She should go on to the press like Tomic did and say "this is the best time to take out the Williams Sisters."

"One is permanently tired, the other one got broke ankles."

This is really hard to watch. Venus cannot keep the ball in play. I hope Serena absolutely pummels Maria for this.

Geez, Maria destroyed Venus in that return game. 2 return winners and a hard hit forced error to break at love.

Combination of people wanting Venus to return to a high level of play and anti-Sharapova sentiment. Lets face it, Sharapova's largest fanbase is people who find her attractive (for some reason).

So many netted shots by Venus. This is one of her worst matches ever, even considering her post-Sjogren's diagnosis-ness.

I don't much like Sharapova and am annoyed at her shrieking, but I respect her ability and dedication. I'm just kind of sad that Venus' run is ending like this.

Serena is not going to be happy if she breadstick-bagels Venus!

This really sucks. My two favorite current female players fighting so early. :( Maria is just on fire, Venus a bit out of sorts tonight. But 73% second serve points won for Maria vs. 13% for Venus is really terrible. Venus looks like a qualifier. Sad.

Seriously, I'm with you there. I'm not saying she's unattractive. But there are people on that other picture thread looking up to her like she's a Calvin Klein model or something. I think tennis people find her extra attractive because she's a professional tennis player, that isn't pudgy.

Let's just say I personally don't think she's attractive enough to be on covers of magazines and what not.
