    There is no other possibility!

Fed ALWAYS lifts his game when it comes to SLAMS.

Even if he faces MURRAY in the SEMIS he WILL BEAT him!!

    Believe it.

b4 everyone goes nuts i ain't a fed fan just stating reality!!!!!

Who the heck wants that. That final would suck. They should just seed whoever is ranked #3 between Murray and Djokovic #2 and make sure the other is in that half. Put Federer in Nadal's half since he is a non factor this year anyway.

Pshh! It's obviously going to be Fish v. Young (Fish d. Young 0-6, 6-1, 6-0, 1-6, 12-10) I'll let you decide if that score is a good or an ugly match :)

Anyway, a Fed-Nadal final would be great if Fed would actually show up mentally.

Is Federer's year up until now any worse than last year's? He made the final last year as I recall.

I say not even SEMI final.
However, playing best of 5 gives Fed the advantage...against most of the oponents that could take him in 2 or 3.

I Velieve that the next time Murray or Djokovic face Nadal things are going to be really tight and maybe and upset will happen. Eventhough he won last week I do not see him playing his best tennis, maybe he is adjusting things from hc to clay.

It is not much better and it is significantly worse in the clay tournaments that have been played so far (didn't play Estoril, lost early in Monte-Carlo).

The big difference was last year Federer played Estoril against low ranked opponents and got a bit of a feeling on clay. This year the first claycourt event was Monte Carlo.Let`s not forget he almost lost last year in his first match against Ramirez-Hidalgo at Monte Carlo. So it`s hard to say he played last year much better on clay at the start then this year.Getting a couple of matches at Rome and Madrid we shall see how his form will develop going into Roland Garros.

It doesn't solely depend on how Roger is playing and will play.

I know she said so far..and so far only one clay tournament has been played...My point is how can you say that his performance is significantly worse than last year after just one tournament and that too the very first one...atleast wait until a few tournaments to pass such a judgement. Read properly please...

It will depend on the draw. If Djokovic ends up in Nadal's half for the fourth year in a row, than yes, Federer might make it to the FO final.

I disagree. Federer has the tools to beat any of these guys (except Nadal) at the French Open. He can also be beaten by any of them if he doesn't bring his best game to the match. It depends more on how Federer plays than who he draws.

Federer 2006 yes, Federer 2009 no.
However, Federer 2009 can still make it to the FO final if he gets a lucky draw, especially if Djokovic ends up, yet again, in Nadal's half.

for the first time I doubt it..and for the first time I dont care about it..I first and foremost want to see Roger's game sorted out both mentally and technically. If he has any persisting physical problems I want him sorted out with those .

sorry but its not necessary Novak will beat Roger..I'm not saying he cannot. But he has a few things to sort out himself and topping the list is his stamina and conditioning. He's getting better but there's still a lot of work to be done in that department. That said,he beat Roger in Miami so it might give him slight edge mentally.

How can you refer to a tournament that Federer, and most top players, didn't even play while also implying that not going to said tournament reflects upon his on-court performance?

As for Monte Carlo, it's one tournament. To conclude "significantly worse" is a stretch considering he hadn't even planned on playing there. By that standard, Federer's hard court results this year were "significantly better" than last year, so your point is moot, whatever it was.

LOL, it would be funny if that happens. And it sure is quite possible. Kinda like how everyone was massaging Murray's testicles before the AO and he goes down before the quarters. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised. Although I wouldn't mind seeing something different this year.

Second that. If Djokovic winds up in Nadal's draw I think Djokovic should go kill someone. As now DJoker is 3 and Fed is 2. 2 and 3 were always meeting so what would be the excuse now.

They don't do that anymore. After 1 and 2, they flip a coin to see who goes to what section. So they say, but don't take their words for it.

Well, Fed has to play out of his mind to beat Nadal, even that he still has to play out of his mind just to get to the final. I am doubtful that he can do that this year. Every tourney he left, he always looking forward to something. Good, hard court is over, now I can look forward to clay. Oops, I am not playing well on clay now, let's go to grass, etc.

I don't know what's the deal with Fed but he looks pathetic. Also, he's not even fit. His belly is growing from eating left overs from his new wife. Man, if he keeps doing that, he may as well retires.

It's been nearly 5 years since that's happened. Would you bet your life on that happening this year?

Well, that would be a sight to see. I think someone may need to check on Nadal_Freak to make sure he doesn't do anything crazy if that should happen.

If you're right then we are all going to suffer yet another snooze fest like last year's final. I'm sick of Federer/Nadal matches quite honstly. It's always the same pattern. I would rather a new guy would get to the final (not a top seed).

if it is another fed NAd final

expect the usual cheap Rafa tactics

    time waste between points

    butt pick

99% of everything to Feds BH

    ???

What I meant about Estoril and Monte-Carlo is that last year at this time he had won a 250 tournament on clay and made the final of a master whereas at the same time this year he has won nothing and lost before the quarter in the master, sorry but if that's not much worse than last year, then what is?
He has done a little better on hard court this year (final instead of semi at AO and semi instead of quarter in Miami) that's a little better but going from final to round of 16 at Monte-Carlo is significantly worse, not a little worse.

The sad thing is although Fed knows it's coming to his backhand, he can't do anything about it. In the end you just gotta say 'too good".

Fair statement. Fed/Nadal final is too predictable, especially on clay. Fed doesn't put up much of a fight. What's wrong with this guy lately?
