This may have been answered before and I apologize if it has... but I was re-watching parts of the Verdasco-Gasquet match last night, and was wondering what Verdasco was drinking. It appeared to be a cloudy pink drink in a regular Evian bottle. Didn't look like ZYM because it wasn't clear pink. I was thinking it could be like protein or something along those lines. Any ideas? Just curious, who knows, could help hydrate me better and make me play better, or... could make me yell profanities at my opponents louder... (jk, too far?) :)

I asked Verdasco at the Sony Ericsson in Miami what was that special pink drink. Verdasco and his coach both started laughing saying it was top secret. I will tell you its very thick whatever it is it looked highly concentrated.

On the tennis experts they have drink mixtures like it under accessories, they closest flavor i could think of that they offer is fruit punch. I also looked up accelerade and it has the same flavors as the other one i mentioned

i know its some type of drink thats made specially for verdasco and replenishes the correct amount of electrolytes that are lost (i know murray has had a study done seeing what rates he loses electrolytes etc...and had a drink made for that)

It's what Gil Reyes used to mix for Agassi, I believe the primary ingredient is Cytomax powder.

Cytomax is essential- I use this a lot- that and Xtend...Grape was my favorite until they stopped making it and now put some herbal lift in their Go Grape-

I'm just curious, I sweat like a wrung out sponge! Trying to see if there are things that I can do more than just hydrating the day before a tournament

Verdasco does indeed use CytoMax Tropical Punch powder. [The stuff below] He has it very thick to get the max amount of electrolytes per sip.

If you're someone who sweats a lot, you should try to hydrate well the night before and also the morning before. Have a 1.5l bottle of water and electrolytes the night before and 2 hours before you play, before playing the solution doenst have to be so thick, it can be quite diluted because you will be taking it in over a prolonged period of time. Then when you go to play mix up a thicker solution of the stuff. This should help your hydration a lot. The best way to check if you're hydrated is to make sure you're urine is always clear as water. Bit grim, but it's the best way!

    Hope that helps a little.
