^^I don't think he'd deign enter a court with him, for starters.

Verdasco is top 8, facing guys all ranked higher than him, and taking sets from every of them. He lived up to his seeding. In fact he was not that far from winning his match against #1 Fed in straights.

Yes. I would estimate a few hundred thousand people have seen him win matches over the course of his career, possibly more.

The fact that he took a set off Murray resulting in Murray's elimination alone satisfies me.

Here's a guy who played better than he ever played before, ranked in the top 10 in the world, played in tennis's world championships...and the poster calls him "fiasco".

Do you have THAT high of a standard??

He is mentally very weak. Lots of talent, sort of like Soderling. But Robin seems to have a much stronger head on his shoulders than Fernando does atm (never thought I would say that about Robin Soderling of all people). He's going to have to see a psychologist or something during the offseason. He has the game to beat the top players..just not the mind.

Verdasco is not as bad as the OP makes him out to be, but he does seem to have a mental problem on the big points. Basically he gives a lot of his matches away by imploding all by himself when it gets tight.

I think Nadal is the fiasco ,but i doesn't rhyme as good.
I think Nadal is done, and it's not up to him anymore. Many guys have the better qualities than he does and more potential to be better, such as Del Potro,Tsonga,Gulbis,Soderling.Big room to improvement, while Nadal can't run any faster.

LOL,Gulbis?!? The guy first has to get past the 2nd round before he's even mentioned along with Nadal.Tsonga? As much as I love his game, ever since that amazing match in 2008 AO he's on a losing streak to Nadal and in their last encounter Nadal straightsetted him(before he got spanked by Novak in the semis).

Fernando verdasco vs Jarkko Nieminen 4th rd us open 2005 loss.

A complete mental meltdown against consistent junkballer Jarkko.
He just didn't give a **** and tanked. Some of the worst mens tennis i've seen. shame fernando shame.

Simple analogy between Nadal and those i've mentioned:
There is car that has a 500 HP maximum engine, and can run in its max for 3 hours and consistently,in its comfort zone.(This is Nadal)
There is another car with 700HP potential, but the engineers are currently working and developing it ,to get to that maximum power and consistently, since it sometimes goes to the 700 HP ,but the car breaks down, can keep it right there and consistently.(Gulbis,Tsonga)
Once the make it work,it's a goodbye to the opponents.
I look at the potential, and if you know how to play tennis you know, that takes longer to develop all around game than just to play baseline game.
But you can disagree and LOL as much as you can,but these to players i mentioned are far more talented and more skillful than Nadal, but they have defects, very visible, such as foot work, inconsistency. This year will be a turning key for many players, such as Nadal(getting out of the top 3),Federer not making to one of the semi finals of GS,DelPotro(top 3),Murray out of top 5,Roddick out of top 10,Gulbis top 20,Kubot top 30,Davidenko back to top 5,Djokovic maybe top2,Tsonga???????,Cilic Top 10.
    We'll see it.

He beat Sela, Melzer and Cilic and I'm pretty sure there were at least a few people in the stadium there to see him win.

He played way below his level and his attitude after losing the first set was garbage. I really hope one day this guy can wake up and live up to his immense potential.

Verdasco can't play on grass. Nothing new.

What's not new as well are some of the frustrated people on here with their unlimited flow of frustrated nonsense.

Verdasco is so overrated. Just because he's fairly competent on clay and hard doesn't mean he can play well on grass. He's not known to be any grass expert anyway,is it really that surprising that he got taken out by Fognini? Even if he got past Fognini he would have got his ass handed to by other players in the upcoming rounds,so might as well spare him the agony of having to play on grass further only to lose.

Safina,Ivanovic and Vaidisova are waiting for him.....Fernandine.

Verdasco is a massive underachiever. If he had the mental strength of his countryman Nadal, then he'd possibly be top 5 and might win a slam or two. He's just wasting his carrear, his physical prime. What a shame. He had some good results in the clay season and some big wins over top 10 players but he is still under performing in majors.

Verdasco Fiasco keeps making me laugh. This match today was another classic from Fiasco.I couldn't believe He let that match be turned around twice.
Maybe it's the new Dunlop frame that He didn't get used too yet.

Verdasco is in over his head. He simply is not a top 10 caliber player. He is every top players beetch. The Monte Carlo final this year might be the most embarassing Masters final in history.

Verdasco like all other spanish clayboys peak there form around spring for the clay. A couple of minor injuries and lack of form... and there you go.

Nadal = Peak is over... cakewalk in Toronto, was worthless today.
Almagro = Peak is over, had two tourneys in june/july, plays rubbish atm.
    Verdasco = da da da..
Ferrer/Robredo = the same there.. peak is over..

But they are clowns. You said so yourself. Roddick is an overrated player who has won every title in 2001/02/03/04/05/06/07/08/09/10 because of joke draws. Soderling is a ball basher, Djokovic is not even showing up and Berdych is starting to become overrated.

Hardly a good year if you only just beat Roddick who still wasn't 100% from the injury he suffered in AO against Cilic, Djokovic is losing to everyone - so it's not really a big win as such and Soderling comes and goes like the wind. That's all.
