Seem to remember Jimbo leaving the grounds by helicopter after the match.

I love Vilas. His backhand is money in the bank. He couldn't seem to dent Borg on clay though, but the man was pure class. I'm actually surprised he didnt' win more slams.

    Quicktime or Realplayer format

Would love to see this clip, but my iMac computer can't open this wmv file. Can anyone convert this file to quicktime or realplayer format, or can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks.

    Awesome!!! :D

I remember watching that match live on TV when I was a teenager. I still think Connors' shot down the line on match point clipped the line but the umpire didn't even have a chance to check the mark before the Vilas fans stormed the court. Understandably, Connors was ticked off. He hugged his son, stormed off of the court, and never shook hands with Vilas after the match.

BTW, as great as Vilas was on clay, incredibly Borg would clean Vilas' clock every time they played on clay. That's how good Borg was. Even today, when people ask Vilas about Borg's career, records, and his matches against him, he'd just say - "Well, he's Bjorn Borg". ;)

    Nice find. Thanks.

"Seem to remember Jimbo leaving the grounds by helicopter after the match."

I seem to recall he used to bolt with mommy after losing.

I also recall that Borg used to routinely kick Vilas' ass on clay.
