Ginny has the same strokes and is a very gracious speaker. Lutz can volley. Nice to see them out at the UPENN tennis function.

Very cool T10S747, that is awesome to see. Bob Lutz was such a great doubles player with Stan Smith and he used to be VERY STRONG. Also, Virginia Wade has always been a great player AND class act.

When I was about 14-15, me and my best friend/doubles partner were working out after school as usual at our tennis club. Well, on that day, here comes Bob Lutz for a hit around with members. At the end, my friend and I got some "brownie points" because we actually were able to try and return his serve, which I'M SURE was at about 50% max effort. I hit one return in as he served once to me, and I think my buddy did as well.

He was very nice and let me say again..HUGE, especially when you're a scrawny 14-15 year old. He looked even more muscular on that day(mid 1980's) than he does in this picture from about 1970 probably:

See a "SI VAULT" article from 1963, when he was just 16:

    Then another from 1968:

Sorry, no pics. They were both so gracious. It's unmistakable that they could both still play and they keep the ball so deep.

I went to High School (St. John Vianney) in L.A. with the Lutz brothers. Thanks to them, we were the Camino Real Champs. They outclassed all opponents. Real nice guys...

GZHPCU, that's very interesting. I was amazed at how well Lutz did even at 16, based on that article above. I didn't realize that his brother was also a great player.
