3rd meeting. Split last two meetings on clay, 1st meeting in over 2 years. Curious if Gonzo will get a visit from the Mafia tonight. Volandri in a Master Series Final....get out! If you had put $1.00 USD on him in his 1st match and then parlayed your winnings into his other matches, then you would have over $300.00 USD for $1.00 USD. I like Gonzo in straight sets but you never know.

I saw Gonzo against Chela this evening......all I can say is WOW. What is up with Gonzo??? He bamboozles all of us with his dislpay of power athleticism/power/style and talent in Australia then absolutely nothing from him till today. Today, you gotta give it to the guy, he played amazing....quite literally. But I really get the feeling that with this guy its all or nothing.

So against Volandri - I think Gonzo will either blast him off the court in two sets or lose badly in two sets.

I REALLY want to see Gonzo in the final against Nadal. Even though his chances of winning against him are bordering on zero I really wanna see someone play Nadal without fear and give it their all - instead of losing even before they step on court. I think Gonzo is capable of putting up a fine show against Nadal - you just know that if he's gonna go out, then he's gonna go out all guns blazing.

Anyways, I really have a lot of time for Gonzo. When his game is on he is just awesome and it takes someone like Fed or Nadal to stop him. Therefore, it may be wishful thinking but I predict a Gonzo win against Volandri - 6-4, 6-3 !

Gonzo is exactly the sort of guy that may give Nadal a scare or could very possibly beat him. His feast or famine way of playing tennis is what's needed to take it to Nadal on clay courts. Let's face it, you aren't gonna out rally Nadal from the baseline on clay, but with a forehand like Gonzo's you may be able to hit through him. The only other person out that like that is Pim-Pim. Here's hoping for a Nadal vs. Gonzo final.

I prefer Gonzalez over Volandri in the final. Gonzalez is a better player but Volandri is on fire and I don´t want the final to be a Davis Cup match if you know what I mean. Nadal-Gonzalez played last year in Rome and Nadal won 6-4 6-3 (only meeting on clay) and he is playing better than last year. I prefer Gonzalez in the final, not a italian clay-courter who is on fire and playing the match of his life in front of his crowd.

Gonzalez will win for sure, I bet all my money on him :D

If he loses to Volandri, we can be sure that the Italian Mafia is paying the players

looking forward volandri in the final....
volandri proves that he is an excellent player, by beating fed and brydch...
come on guys, he has nothing to do with mafia... he deserves to be in the final.
with the support of crowds, i am not surprising if volandri beat gonzo....

I thinks that if Volandri gets to the final, he will at least get one set on Nadal. The guy is ON FRICKIN FIRE. I personally like the guy he is a peoples player and the crowd responds very well to him in Rome. If Volandri makes it Nadal Will be playing not only Volandri but the entire crowd.

Their last meeting was in 2006. note the first two games

    3-6 7-5 6-3 6-3

IF Volandri makes it to the final IN ROME it could easily be 6-3, 7-5 Volandri

I dont want to see Gonzo and his steffi graf slice backhand against Nadal.

I would wager on Fillipo playing Rafa in the final. As for this match, straight sets to Volandri

I´m sorry for Volandri , but he would not get to the final. He won to Federer, but please, Federer played the worst match of his life, (39% first serve) then we have berdych, who have never done something big on clay. Lets face the truth, Volandri has luck this week. I think he get this "big" points and that´s all he can get in this year...jijiji. Tomorrow he will confront a real deal. Vamos Gonzo!!!

PS: por más que arreglen el horario pa que pierda Gonzo , no pasará olvidenlo!!!!
PS2: en este foro se hablará ingles pero la suerte hay que darla como corresponde. Vamos Chile mierda!! Vamos Feña!!!. Vamos por el titulo!!!

Don't think this will be interesting. Davydenko has no real weapen to hurt Nadal, even on carpet and certainly not on clay. 62: 6:3 for Nadal I'd guess.

Game set and match Gonzalez 6-1 6-2

Volandri ousts Federer and Berdych in straights and then losses to Gonzalez with a score like that

    Crazy stuff.

well...i d like to see Davy takes everyball on the rise and give Nadal a good run....what does he have to lose? If its a close match, i d say Nadal wins 6-4,6-3 something like that
