Volkl Catapult V10 V-Engine

    What's the deal with this racquet? Are we ever going to see it in the US or is it going to be like the Tour 10 Extended, for European consumption only?

    Michael, you should also try the Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus, a very sweet and forgiving player racquet.

    tenboz - I currently play with the Tour 10 Mid Plus and until recently I was going between the Tour 10 Mid Plus and the C10 Pro. I see by one of your posts that you have played with both of those racquets. How would you compare the Tour 10 V-engine Mid Plus with the Tour 10 Mid Plus and the C10 Pro. Also, have you tried the Tour 10 V-engine Mid?

    I did not try the T10 V-Engine Mid.

    The T10 V-Engine Midplus feel is closer to the C10 pro, the maneuverability is like the Tour 10 (even slightly more maneuverable than the Tour 10), more stable than the Tour 10, more power on serves than the Tour 10, easier to generate headspeed than with the C10, the T10 V-engine MP is a great serving stick, it gives accuracy, power, and is excellent for kick and slice serves, more forgiving than T10 and C10, the sweetspot is bigger than on the C10 or the T10. For the groundtsrokes it is easier to generate power and spin than with the C10 pro or the T10, without any sacirifice with control,. From the baseline, easily generate all kind of spin, generate your own power or use the pace of your opponent to couterpunch with the same happiness. At net it has the perfect blend of feel, maneuverability and stability.

    I think that the V-engine technology works great, and it doesn't provide any hot spot in the stringbed, so the player always feels under control.

    In a few words, I would define the Tour 10 V-Engine Midplus simply as a way more forgiving C10 pro, with no control sacrifice.

    Played as well with Big Banger Alu at 56lbs as with Gosen OG JC 17g at 58lbs.

    I can't believe how good the T10 V-Engine Midplus is.

    hi i assume you are comparing the t10v-engine mp to the t10mp and not the t10mid? can you pls clarify..you dont mention trying the t10mp in your other post i dont think. thanks. ed

    I just got my V10mp in the mail today. Hit with it for about an hour and a half this evening. It's a sweet racquet :) After a few more hitting sessions I'll post my thoughts regarding the two racquets.

    I got it in the mail last night and hit with it as well. I thought it hit okay, but the guy I was hitting with said it had a bit more pop than my usual T10 MP. Another reason could be the Wilson NXT 16 strings TW used to give it a bit more pop. I typically use a hybrid of ALU/Hex Power and it's nearly as lively as NXT. But as others have mentioned, it does feel more like an updated C10.
