Would anyone have a Volkl Tour 10 V-engine MID Prototype that they could weigh for me? I am talking about the all black version that just says "Start your v-engine" on the side. Any help appreciated. I am just curious if this one differs from the standard release version at all.

I'll see what I can do as I have both the retail and prototype versions at home.

My prototype T10ve mid (L3 grip size) is 360 grams; it has VS16 strings, Wilson leather grip, Volkl bug dampener and one overgrip. However my retail version (L4 grip) that has the same Volkl bug dampener, Volkl leather grip, one overgrip and a hybrid of VS17 mains and Gosen OG Sheep Micro 17 crosses weighs 365 grams.

Thanks for the info. Close enough that either one should be fine.

At least SOME of the difference is the Volkl Leather ... it is heavier than Wilson.

I am going to post my question in this thread instead of a new one. I am trying to decide do I get the 3 all black V-engine mids or do I go with the standard issue black/yellow cosmetics? I have been trying to decide for 2 days and can't make up my mind so I am asking for a little help in deciding? The advantage of the standard yellow/black ones is I can always get more when needed. Advantage of the all black/silver model is I can put whatever strings I would like in it regardless of color.

Hey LH, if I were in your shoes I'd get the prototypes just because they were available. (You're getting 3 in a deal right?) With my frames there isn't that much of a difference so if I really liked using the T10ve mid I'd stock on up whatever was out there whether it was the prototype or regular version.
