Before I say anything else, I have to say that I normally don't buy these shorts, not because they suck, but because they have yet to design shorts that can honestly be used for tennis effectively.

Well, saying that, I was strolling about Walmart today and I saw these new style of shorts that look a bit like the adidas line, but with their own swig. I tried them own and honestly, they felt great, they felt almost like a pair of dri-fit sphere nike shorts that fed wore for last years nasdaq open. But the thing that inspired me to buy two pairs was that the price was about 12 dollars, and the material and stitching looks like it has great quality. I'll see if I post pics later and if you don't care about the brand, i'd encourage you to pick some up

The Starter shorts wear great. I have used them for years. Starter made a mistake last year and went away from the Dri Star material. Sales were dismal but this year they look like they have their act together. Another good short for recreational play is the Champion line sold at the Target stores.

Why get Starter shorts when you can get Nike, Adidas, Reebok, etc for $12-15 at Marshalls, Ross, or the clearence section of most stores? I get Nike's tennis shorts at Nordstrom Rack for $15.

They look nice, i probably will end up paying a premium for my beloved Adidas that are almost identical. In the end i have trouble buying from walmart also.

I've been wearing Wal Mart attire since I got serious about tennis a few years ago...

I wear all the unmarked shirts, shorts, and pants. All of them keep my dry, never stain, stay together, and look like they cost more than they actually did. I love it all.

I just got a new pair of white shorts for $6... I've never spent more than 10 on anything.

I could buy a whole rack of shirts for the price of my shoes.

I've been buying the Champion C9 stuff when Target marks it down. A few weeks ago I got a short sleeve short for about $6 and a long sleve for $7. Last fall I got a pair of the shorts for $3.50. Don't get me wrong I still like my adidas, nike and lacoste stuff, but this stuff wears just as well.

It's different in texas, seeing as everyone plays football or the more "manly" sports.

I can go to Marshalls and get a matching Nike/Adidas/and occasionally Lacoste tennis outfir for about 30 dollars.

I got some sweet compression (spandex) starter shorts from Walmart. I only paid 9 dollars for them. For a pair of under armour or nike spandex, it would cost around 40 dollars. I got in a habit of wearing them when I played volleyball. I like how they keep my legs warm.
