I got 20 invites on my gmail They increased it from 6. Gmail is great. You get one gig of email storage as others like yahoo, hotmail, and netscape only offer 250 mb.

You get 4 times more storage with gmail :)

gmail is an email client. Currently, in order to get gmail, you must be invited by someone who has gmail.

When gmail was first introduced, google allowed people to sign up for gmail for beta testing, but not any longer. I believe gmail is still in beta. Once gmail has been fully tested, google will one day allow users to sign up for it like you would in yahoo, and hotmail as a full public release.

Here's a stronger question: how exactly can Google support such a task? 1,000 megs for every user? For free? No Pop-up ads? How in heck do they afford that?

Tennis.com email charges 39.95 a month for like only 100 megs.

Jeeze. Why pay 40.00 bucks if I can get 250mb and 1 gig of email for free? That is highway robbery ;)

1K megs is the limit, but unless you get dozens of high-quality pics or media files every day I doubt you get to use up that much space.

Ah, so you couldn't use it as an online storage area? Is there an attachment size limit?

And gmlasam, the price is quoted in something in that area of ridicuosity and no I didn't sign up for it, I have the tennis.com free webmail. I also have yahoo mail which offers 250 mb which is more than enough for my needs.

gmail isn't a storage like the yahoo briefcase. If you have people sending you pics, mp3, or movie files as attachments, then gmail is way to go. 250mb is also more than enough for my emails. I'm only using 2% of 250mb with my yahoo, hotmail, and netscape emails.

I am the exact same way. I only use about 2% but the other day I did get to 3% but I deleted a lot of messages.

I just want the g-mail 'casue it has lots of space so I never have to delete anything.

    I don't think there's a human on the planet who "needs" G-Mail.

The word 'need' should only be used when tryly NEEDED.

As for myself, I subscribe to the theory of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it'. Yahoo mail has served me fine for a number of years. And 250 MB is more than I'll ever use.

    Other services offer 1GB too,
like walla.com I use that for **** email.. Only problem with walla is, I havent figured out how to compose mail with it. Either that or my browser doesnt support it.

Seems like Gmail's going public soon. Everybody has 50 invites to give out now and when you use all 50, they give you another 50 either the same day or the next day.

    I've sent invites to:

    agi072@hotmail.com
    aj_m2009@yahoo.com
    steven_kyle@excite.com
    achun8@yahoo.com
    ibemadskizzo@yahoo.com
    ds_69_@hotmail.com
(I didnt know who had recieved them yet)

If anyone else needs invites, go to this link: http://isnoop.net/gmail/
People with Gmail invites send theirs to gmail@isnoop.net and they distribute it out to whoever wants one.

oops ive sent some to those people to. I think when someone posts their email the person who sent it should also reply back. if you guys don't see it in ur inbox it might be in the bulk folder.

    enjoy ;)

And your invite box is in the lower left. It should say how many you have left right next to the "send invite" button. Your invites dont add up. You just get more everyday or something
