I'm looking for the original Volkl Tour 10 MidPlus. I don't want the v-engine or the generation II. I need grip size of 4 3/8 inches (same as a 3), and the head size is 98 sq. inches. Looking for a reasonable price. Some web-sites want absurd amounts for this racquet. E-mail: Windridge04@netscape.net

Just wondering, but what are the "absurd amounts" that these web-sites want and which web-sites? Thanks.

Hmmm...well, TW did sell them for $169.99 for years and sold tons of them at that price, so I guess all those people who bought them at that price didn't consider it absurd. In fact, they would have considered $154 a deal. :)

Problem is that it isn't made anymore, and tennis warehouse also sold a ton for $99 once the v-engine came out. So i consider it absurd now, it wasn't at the time, but that was more than 2 years ago and they've come out with 2 new models since.

Actually, TW didn't put the Tour 10 MP GenI on sale until the GenII came out earlier this year, not when the V-Engine came out. The Tour 10 VE MP was not considered a replacement for the Tour 10 MP, as the GenI is. That's why the T10VEMP is still being sold side-by-side with the Gen II just like it was sold side by side with the GenI. They're considered different racquet lines. One is the V-Engine line and the other is the Tour line. I remember seeing the T10MP GenI still selling for $169.99 on TW as recently as 5 months ago (around Xmas).

BTW, the fact that they don't make the GenI any more should INCREASE its value since they are now very scarce and cannot be purchased in stores anymore. Look at how much the St. Vincents are worth today, as well as, Stradivarius violins.

If you are still interested, I have one I'm not using anymore. It is 4 3/8" and overgrip always used on it. I've had it for a while but didn't play with it that much cause i changed to the Head LM's and now I'm changing again. no chips or scrapes on frame. slight wear on head guard. I think I strung it about 4 times. grommets are in excellent shape

I will ask what to me is a fair price of $75 shipped. no cover. I have excellent references as both a seller and buyer.
