Okay. I'm not claiming to be an expert on this subject by any means, but what makes you sure that it's RPM blast?

This is fedace we're talking about kickserve.. _-_

Sorry to tangent off-topic but since we're talking about black strings.. Which baseline string gauge do you have in your sig, and you think you can compare it to CF or pro hurricane?

True, true. As for my strings, I use Speed, which is the 16L gauge. Sorry but I've never tried CF, so I can't compare, but for PH, I found Speed to be softer and less powerful, but more spin friendly. Baseline also lasts longer than most polys that I have tried, and I love the feel it I get from it around the time it dies, which is when I believe it performs best. However, my opinions might be a little bit different from others as the string that I currently use is 16L and the Pro Hurricane that I tried was a 16 gauge...

Perfect because i use PH16, as shown in my signature :)

Just sucks i have to wait forever to order one. And i'm planning on putting baseline strings not in my APDC, but in a few FXP prestiges i have coming in. Figure i might need a new string that gives a bit more spin in a tighter string pattern.

It's not bad for the price, and for this time, I have certainly enjoyed it. However, I'm thinking of switching to something more durable, because I break strings every 3-5 days, which is how I'm able to justify having 6 rackets...

Querry is supposedly using rpm blast as well since right before Memphis.

I would think that's Wawrinka is using too; I seem to recall his name being among those who switched but am not sure. Sonic has been out for a while and I can't really see him going from ALU to Sonic Pro: they play completely different.

But some say that Sonic Pro is very different from Luxilon Alu, his previous string. Could he be using Black Code?

More of a possibility of Black Code, than Sonic Pro. Sonic Pro is too soft for him to switch from ALU, that's just too big of a switch. Black Code is stiffer, and much more of a possibility...

It's a paint job or a dye job. Babolat does/did the samething with Nadal and Roddick.

Why would he get a string paintjob? He is not sponsored by Babolat.

Oh please...HEAD would not go through the trouble of dying another company's strings black. What an absolutely absurd notion.

No gut can produce that much topspin. it is RPM blast. Warinka with that string is a real threat on clay courts, including french open........LOL...but then Rafa is also using the RPM so maybe NOT..............:)

I actually think Wawrinka is using either RPM Blast or Black code. Those would only be the two logical explanations.

I actually thnk Wawrinka is using the new Luxilon string soon to be released.....it's a black copy of a combo of BlackCode, Alu Power Spin and RPM Blast - and it holds tension for literally months and play super dead with a great spin production - it's AWESOME

It will be called Luxilon (Big Banger) Black Mamba !!

That would be cool if it was a new Luxilon string.

This means the hard hitting pro players can hit even harder than they currently can with Alu Power, and still obtain great Alu Power like spin with the new Luxilon BB Black Mamba and the ball will still be inside the line.

They can serve crazy hard and with good feel at the same time.

Players like Blake, Berdych, Wawrinka, Murray and a lot of other pros will love this new Lux string.

The Black Mamba is Luxilons answer to the RPM Blast string :)

Wawrinka could well be using RPM Blast, since his rackets are strung by P1,so this is theory one.
Besides that you can't say he is using RPM Blast,or neither querrey or anybody else until you know for sure.
How many black string are out there??
Tecnifibre Black Code(Tipsarevic and somebody else),Signum Pro Blackline Tornado,Signum Pro Black Hyperion, TopSpin Cyber Black,Cyber Twirl,Cyber Whirl and anything that finishes "irl",just to name a few.
It's only assumption, but as all ATP players don't test different strings or go to different companies they will probably be using RPM Blast because Nadal uses,it's Babolat and.....

It's also the sound of rpm, a thunk sound. That is the tell tale.

"It’s also attracted a few players sponsored by other companies who have broken ranks with their strings, according to TENNIS.com contributors and tour stringers Patterson and Nate Ferguson of Priority One Tennis in Tampa, Fla. These include Sharapova (who uses a hybrid mix of RPM Blast and Prince Natural Gut), Sam Querrey and Stanislas Wawrinka."

Need I explain more? Although Querrey switched back to ALU...

Guess this settles it, after so many different speculations?!

Just today, in the match between him and Roddick in AO, it's amazing seeing how much spin he gets but at the same time hitting incredible drop/touch shots. I'm becoming a fan- to this "the other Swiss player".

    ^^It's likely that it's a 1.25mm instead of a 1.30(16g) as he used alu power before and it's 1.25mm.
