Hi guys as you may be aware my friend and I were planning to play a 12 hour singles match.. we did do on Saturday from 8 am till 8 pm the only breaks we took were the regular 90 second time outs at change of ends which were timed! :)

We raised enough money to send two kids to school in South East Asia for a whole year!

The event was really well supported and we plan to do it again next year although my body is still sore all over.

We streamed the whole match and you can see it here

I know you wont want to sit through 12 hours but there are some cool moments. such as the last few minutes. and a couple points at 1 hour 26 and 2 hours 38 plus some others it is more for you guys to see the fun and pain combined we endured :)

    Great job Ark!

A couple of guys at my old club went for the world record a couple of years back and got to 33h33m and some change. It was due to go in the Guiness Book that September, but a month or so later a couple of guys from Germany went over 60h so they didn't get in the book.

60hrs? How many sets? Does each of them do like 10,000 Djoko ball bounces between points??

That's amazing!!! Was proud of my friend and I for doing 12 straight it's a very fun, surreal and rewarding experience given the cause :)

Great job, OP! The longest match I ever played lasted a puny four hours, so you've blown me out of the water there. It's great to hear inspiring stuff like this.

Very well done, I bet your arm hurt at the end of it.

I like your deadly serve. :)

Haha my arm still hurts!!! I wish my serve was deadly! But I was pleasantly surprised still to have decent pace even towards the end of the match :)

No tennis for a month. Nice one, doing something you like and making money for charity at the same time sounds like this could be a annual event.

We certainly want to make it an annual event and hopefully bigger and better next year!

So much props to my opponent he is 42 years old but was so passionate about this charity that you would have had to drag him off court before he gave up!

How many sets did you guys play?

What a great cause, those kids will be happy.

no food or did you guys take any those liquid gels. 12 hours would be rough without any supplement.

Thanks mate it came to 22 sets we played!

We don't stop for lunch or dinner but did have 90 second time out where we did take down energy bars and bananas as well as liquids :)

The only thing I have done for 12 hours straight is to sleep. And I did not take any bathroom breaks either.

How did this raise money, exactly? Did you charge people to watch or ask for donations?

We asked people to sponsor us.. We set up a site and raised money online some people at the club pledged and amount and the charity provided us with buckets which we left court side and people left money after seeing us play and enduring the marathon match.
