I would give everyone apart from Nadal, Djokovic and Federer a 0% chance. Including ALL of the 'next generation' (Kyrgios, Thiem, Dimitrov, Nishikori, Zverev, Fritz, Tiafoe...etc...).

Seems pretty accurate I must say. Outside of French Open I don't see Nadal ever getting close to another one though. Maybe Nishikori a few procents higher? If he develops a better serve and stays injury free he can challenge when the moment is right.

Nishikori has a darn good chance at winning a major if he stays healthy and fit.

Murray can win another for sure if he keeps plugging away

Kyrgios has talent but I hold back largely because it's still early for him and I don't want to see him derailed by the excessive hype machine.

Wawa has already proven he can beat inform Novak when he sets his mind to it so why not again

Raonic..maybe

The rest....slim chance...

Nadal could definitely still win another French. 25 % chance. Especially if Uncle Tony takes more of a back seat.

Murray could win any slam if he successfully begs Lendl to work with him again. Then it could be a 50 % chance. If he keeps working with people who he blames and yells at on court for his errors I would give him a 2 % chance

Federer only if Novak gets injured or suffers a shock defeat to someone else. So I would make his chances 20 %.

Nishikori definitely has a shot. 25 % ,

Thiem , Goffin and Kyrgios could all have a shot after Novak retires or gets to his mid 30s. Too early to quantify.

Wawrinka I think French only if Novak is jinxed and fails again. 15 %.

I bet you had Cilic at 1% last year as well, right before the USO.

The reason so few can aspire to win Slams right now has little to do with weak or strong eras. It's because of Nole's dominance. Some time in the near future he will decline and plenty of others will start winning Slams. Will that mean the start of a strong era? Or course not. Your logic is faulty.

Milos can definitely ride that big serve and game to a slam on grass or the faster hard courts if he can get and stay hot. He seems to be still improving.

Who thought Cilic would ever be in a slam final? And, Simon took Djokovic to 5 sets at the AO.

Cilic was long thought of as a potential slam winner when he first emerged on the scene. It had only been for a couple years max people had given up on the idea before his slam win. Regardless he has power and weapons to beat any top player on a given day, which Simon does not have. He has the game to frusterate and beat any top player on a really off day, but you need more than that to go all the way in a slam. He doesn't have the game to ever string 4 or 5 good wins to win the title or even make the final of a slam, no way.

build a wall that separates the Fed fans from the Novak fans.
There are some Fedal fans and Djokodal fans, but I haven't seen a Fedovic fan around - must have gone extinct last year?
Probably the closest thing we get to a Fedovic fan now is a Nadal hater, lol.

This is a stupid thread sorry.
Any of those players could win a slam as crazy as that sounds. Cilic did it, Stan's done it while playing insane. Anderson took Djokovic to a 5th set as did Simon. Ferrer consistently reaches slam QF's.
From your list the only player I can't see ever winning a slam is Isner.

None of this is set in stone. If any of those players mentioned run into Monfils in the near future, their chances could easily skyrocket depending on whether they're a quick learner or not.

Cilic was long thought of as a potential slam winner when he first emerged on the scene. It had only been for a couple years max people had given up on the idea before his slam win.

Those thoughts had long passed, and more than just a couple years max. Regardless, no one thought of Cilic as a potential slam winner in 2014.

And what about Ferrer? If he can make it to the 2013 RG final, why not Simon in 2016?

Cilic and Ferrer are both much better and more dangerous players than Simon. It is pretty simple. If you are saying Simon even in his 30s can make a slam final we might as well just say why not Donald Young too, or anyone on tour.

Would Simon have made the Australian Open final even had he won that match (hell no).

Heavens, all I initially said is that Simon would beat Djokovic if they met in the RG final. You turned the prediction of a hypothetical scenario into an argument of if Simon can make it to a slam final.

Lol, Raonic at 25%. Love the guy, but he just doesn't have the ground game to beat a top echelon player at his best.

If he gets to avoid Djokovic and any future true contender then maybe.

Not bad:).
Of the 20 everybody is 0% except 8 (Murray, Federer, Rafa, Wawa, Nadal, Raonic, Thiem and Kyrgios).

I would also give Wawa the best chance of the older guys. Kyrgios has the best chance if he gets his head fixed.
