Once I watched Marat in Monte-Carlo in his Porsche probably Carrera 911 or similar . What about others ? It is interesting to know what these millioners from first 10 do prefer?

I read somewhere that Federer prefers to win tournaments with prizes instead of money but I guess you get both.

There's a thread on the cars that pro players own in the Pro Gear forum. I'm too lazy to go look for it.

Cars as Pro Gear? That's funny, but probably true. Actually Safin had a Jeep Cherokee in Moscow, & the car of his that was stolen was a Lada. PS Ayakhan, you sure get around. First Brazil, now Monte Carlo. LOL

Nalbandian uses a "Peugeot 206 RC" because he is a fan of WRC (I´m not really sure but i think is true, he uses the 206 when stay in Cordoba, Arg.).
Gaudio uses a "BMW mini Cooper" when stay in Buenos Aires.

There was a mini-article about this in the great tennis encyclopedia that is SMASH magazine. Venus drives a Land Rover with massisve rims cause she think's she's bling bling, Serenta drives an Escalade cause she likes getting 2 MPG, Roddick drives a Lexus and a Mercedes that he won in a torunament, and Hewitt drives a $420,000 ferrari 360 spider he got custom made from the factory in italy.

Now tennis players are not only customizing their racquets but their cars too? Is there anything in their lives that they aren't customizing? I'm sure some even customize their girlfriends with the plastic surgeon. Nothing is ever good enough for them

maybe a bit of lead tape on the front to make it more head heavy so it oversteers instead of understeer

Actually, making the car heavier, depending on the type of drivetrain, would probably make it understeer :)

Also, what's wrong with customizing a car?

The type of car Hewitt got "customized", though, you probably can't HELP but have them custom made almost. They usually only make a limited number and they're all sold out before the first one's even built, so you might as well tell them what color interior you want. Tada. Customized.

To answer Aykhan's question. They prefer the ones that go zoom while making the money in the wallet zoom even faster. In short, the ones you and I can't afford.

This past winter, I went to Bollittieri's Academy to look around. Tommy Haas drove up in his BMW suv, X series. I watched him practice with Stepanek and Stepanek was beating the feces out of him.

Later today, Deuce will come on here with his standard, canned trol...I mean comentary about empty materialism and the profligate wastefulness of the rich. 3...2...1...

That said, spending $360K for a car is a bit absurd.

I actually have heard a couple times that Federer has a VW Toureg. Maybe it's the V10 td?
A funny story about Haas: He used to let his friends borrow his Porsche when they asked to mooch a car off him, but his dad got angry with him and told him not to let his friends borrow that car anymore, so Tommy bought an absolute clunker just for special occasions when he has to loan someone a car.
Agassi drives a minivan - saw it in a commercial.

Hewitt got the first 360 Modena in Australia? That's kinda hard to believe. Probably because the 360 seems to be the most common Ferrari around.

He had a veritable fleet of exotic cars back then. Apparently, nowadays he really does just drive a minivan, like in the commercial. The flashy car went with the flashy clothes and hair, apparently.

Obviously, I'm on your mind, Phil, even when I'm nowhere within a particular thread.

Knowing that you're this preoccupied with me is what makes me smile. I like to annoy jerks - and to know that I am doing it without being anywhere in the vicinity, and without making even the slightest effort, is quite amusing.

I'm not surprised Serena has an Escalade. She has to have something big enough to fit that butt in. Just imagine her trying to squeeze that thing into a Miata.
