Iv had 2 different instructors over time, one said to use eastern backhand grip and another said to use continental grip for a kick serve. Im just wondering what other people use for it.

    I use Continental.

They both work just fine though. Just a matter of which one you are more comfortable with, and enables you in getting more spin on the ball.

I usually use the continental but can do it with eastern backhand. I mix em up, as the eastern backhand has less penetration but more kick.
