What happen to murray's adidas barricades? I thought its that durable, but the way i saw during the ao finals, i think its not that as expected.

    What do you think?

Either they werent new tonight, or there was a manufacturing flaw.

Barricades are one of the most reliable and durable shoes ever made.

He's was wearing his shoes for 2 whole weeks already, and if you take a look at his serve movement you shouldn't be surprised he blowed his toebox off.

Oh yes they are. Last year Sjeng Schalken (US Open SF '02, and sponsored by Nike) told me he got new shoes every week in the hardcourt season.
That means the barricades are as twice as durable..
Besides wearing them 2 weeks every day at an average of 3 hours a day is quite durable for a pro.

I think Murray will be able to get a new pair under the 6 month outsold warranty.

    You beat me to it!

How do you like the Youtek MP? I just got one (played the Prestiges for years) - with the AO haven't had a chance to hit - maybe later today.

I really like it but it needs modification, at the moment my racket has 5 grams of lead in the head under the grommets and 15 grams under the grip, so in total it weighs about 335 grams strung. Going to cap it and take out the lead tape in the head tho. But overall I highly reccommend them.

I highly doubt Murray only wear/had 1 pair of shoes for a 2 weeks tournament...

as soon as i get my barricades, i wash them to soften them up. works like a charm. he should've had another pair tuned up and ready to go.

Uh oh! That's a very bad advert for Barricades! PR nightmare IMHO.

I noticed it was around the big toe area, maybe he cut a hole there on purpose.

Fast bowlers in cricket do it because when they slam their foot down in the delivery stride it puts enormous pressure on that part of the foot which can cause problems. By cutting a hole in that area of the shoe i'm guessing it eases the pressure that he'd be putting on his foot changing direction on hard courts.

I could be wrong, but I guess that Murray's custom-made Barricades may already be broken in when he gets them, because they are made exactly into his feet. Of course, the materials might need some breaking in...

maybe so it wont be too sticky on the AO court.... plue the comfort factor also

maybe Jocker should try that too, since he likes to slide from one end to another...

seriously. pull out the insoles, wash them too. just don't put the insoles in the dryer!!!! You can put the shoes in the dryer, seems to really get them formable. I try to put them on and wear them while they are still warm. great trick for a quick break in and customization.

Murray has been using that pair when he was still with Fred Perry.
Theres a pic of it somewhere.

Murray probably didnt want to break in another pair for the final.
