Close up on Feclieno Lopez Racket..
And Tsonga Racket...
Also Picked up a cracked Simons Racket..
anyone interested with that
Yeah. Take some pics of that, please...
To be Honest i find really look like a retail version...
Throat with Sticker..
Comparison with a Retail Prestige L2 Grip.. Simon is 4 5/8.
Compare with L2
Grommets are different...
Inteli Tour i think as you guys mentioned before..Mostly the same.
sell that baby for some serious $$ on e bay
I am not that sure, is that silicone in the handle? first time i see something like this in a buttcap
Thats for all ...
Lead tapes.....From the Right Hand Corner Black Spot.. 10 Crosses down.. to the next side, from what my mate observed..
Place Where he Cracked the Racket..I think i can still have a hit with it... haha not really that much of damage
NAH ITS CRACKED ANYWAY... I cant get him signed as well...
He retired during the match today
thx for alle the infos n pics
and sry but just to be sure (my english is not the best)
so simon has leadtape at 9+3 and silicone in the handle? or is it more like 10 +2?
I thinks its nine a little bit up LOL...
10 crosses from top to middle... there is a little black pen mark.. on the pics..starts from that string..
THE UPPER RACKET IS SIMONS, and the bottom one is mine.....
I am not sure about silicone problems...i think it is , from what i saw inside the butt cap.....
Great stuff, just one question.
Can you tell what kind of cushion grip he uses?
and yup that looks like silicone
his overgrip looks like a year old lol
n ye id also like to know which replacement grip he uses
thx for everything
But i dont want to remove the overgrip..........
looks like a normal white replacement grip to me :-?
Wow, Simon is big freaking man, look at that grip size, a real man's racket. I think Monfils uses 4 5/8 as well.
Here, you can see that is is not the retail stick...not the grommets, but the strinc channel ending that is a typical PT57A type -- longer than on the retail...
Thank you for your pictures.
And I still don't understand it right. You mean your marked black point near "D" of silver "HEAD" logo, right? This point is at 7th ( not 10th) cross string from the top ( or about 9.30 o'clock)- right?. And from this 7th cross from the top ( or about 9.30 o'clock ) lead is going UP to about 2.30 o'clock or down 10 cross strings to about 8.30 o'clock?
Can you see how many layers of the lead is there ? ( usually they put more than one layer, 1+2 or 2+2 or 2+3 etc..)
Can you also post weight and balance? Thanks.
nono, not that black dot,its a pen mark which is more lighter..
just count 10 crosses down from a prestige...
I dont know how to measure head lights and weight...
i dont have such eqiupment
Those types of stickers are then what Haed now use on their newer pro stocks it seems. My TGK 238.4 and TGK 238.5 also have that sticker type. My older TGK 238.1 has the old stencil on the throat as does my PT57as. New trend from Head.
Made for just this occasion:
Print. Get a dowel or similar tube about 1/2" (12.7mm) in diameter. Follow the directions. And borrow a small postal scale, if possible. A digital scale that reads in 0.01 grams is optimal, but I'm sure the members will accept approximate values.
OK, so lead is from top of the head ( 12 o'clock) 10 cross strings to the left and 10 to the right. Thanks.
I don't want to bother you, but if you would like to help us, it's not very difficult to measure it. Please see the picture. When racquet is balanced on pencil or something like this, just measure how many centimetres is black mark from the end of the racquet ( grip end). His racquet should be about 32cm.
And when I didn't have digital scale for weight measurements, I just gone to nearest supermarket and put racquet on digital scale in veggie department..
If you will measure it sometimes in the future, please post it here, I would like to make exact copy of Simon's setup. Thank you.
Any chance that you could weigh the Simon racquet? Maybe check the balance and swingweight? Thanks in advance if you are able to!
Edit: Sorry, I should have read page 2 before posting, looks like others have asked before me already!
Might as well be of some use, Here is a link on how to get a swingweight measurement once you have the weight and balance: http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/howto_swingweight.php then input the results into the calculator on this site: http://twu.tennis-warehouse.com/learning_center/customization.php
thanks so much for the pics. i am surprised he lets the overgrip get so worn
I tired my best...balance point
around 31 to 32cm ...
btw its actually easy to calculate a somewhat right balancepoint.
just put ur racket on a table n move it till it would fall from the table thats the balancepoint just measure it
but also measure the racket length is it normal 68,5cm/27inches? or longer?
Compared with my Stock one its standard 27
i think
Anyone know what vibration damp tsonga is using in the OP
tecnifibre clip dampener only 2 grams barely changes the balance
Nice bit of work there, R.
The problem I'm having though is that it doesn't print to the correct scale. On the printout, 1" = 1 and 1/16ths.
Does Tsonga's racquet have a cortex system?
yep his racket has cortex
What's the code of the frame?
I think that Simon's frame is PT57A, but frame on this picture is mine and code is TGK 238.4 ( it was posted only to show how to measure balance)
Sorry. REALLY LATE. I was just looking for the post I made to get the address of the image. No great idea without getting into printing problems I've seen people in the past have with various items (not related to this balance board label). I did measure my printout to be sure that the inches and cm were correct with a ruler. I know it's accurate at my end. Sorry. Wish I could help. I tried to make a size that wouldn't get automatically resized by graphics programs to make it fit on certain papers and so forth.
what was the thing in the buttcap"
Silicon i guess ...
white glueeeeeee stuff, that is hard and plasticy inside
Don't listen to him, he knows knothing.
In fact what was in there was emergency food and spare grips.
You weighed it yet Mr Anderson?
Not yet i am sorry :'(...............
Well weight it! You must know someone with a kitchen scale? Or ask a post office to do it!
My guess from when I held it is 345 grams and 325mm balance.
If any one is confused about the lead placement, it is at 12 but all in one layer so it extends as far round as it needs to given the weight needed to be added.
do i know you .......
why you are so detailed with this kind of stuff
Your British friend.
Could you PLEAAAAAAAAAAAASE weight the racket!?
I dont have a scale
an you don't know anyone who owns one? i always believed that a scale is part of nearly every kittchen equipment...
come on, you did manage to get the racket, you will find a way to weight it!
Somewhere else here around Simmon's racket was discribed as 227grams and 310mm UNSTRUNG. So your guess could be close to reality
You mean 327 grams? That sounds about right
yes, i certainly mean 327gr, sorry for that.
That is the exact weight of my PT630's (unstrung w/o overgrip)
My vantages are 326 g - 310 mm...hmmmm I must be a "SimonTard"...
