There should be some sort of mandatory summer school. We can't just have shirtless boys roaming all over the city for three months with nothing to do. I'll be on the phone with the police commissioner very soon. And Sunday classes as well. We need a 24/7 90-day program here.

Maybe it will happen at Wimbledon? I mean, some good players couldn't win today.

Are you F*****G me. Seriously what is wrong with you. You see there's such a thing as point, and only one person can win the point. Further more even if there is a fifty fifty chance of each of the players winning the point, mathematically each point is a separate event in which case winning two points in a row is a great 1/4 chance.

Relax, this is just the biggest troll thread ever created. Either that or New Yorkers have no common sense or mathematical ability. Could be both, actually...

Winning or Losing, it's just numbers. Never let keeping score ruin your game. Refuse to play, stop keeping score. Winning or Losing, it is so subjective.

I see your point about "such a thing as a point, and only one person can win the point". I honestly never looked at it that way, and will consider what you say, even if you did lose me with the 50-50 and 1/4 business.

But still, peashooter: won't you at least concede the possibility that someday no player will be able to win enough of these points to win the whole tournament?

If you (the pro)don't have the strength to play another point then you have to forfeit at which point the other player doesn't have to "win" the match the other guy only has to lose, meaning someone wins as a result of a loss.

Me not have the strength to play another point? I'm not the one playing in these tournaments. Very good players are.

Well, that's the point of trolling. Trolling isn't permitted at TT, which makes wonder why this thread is still around.

I don't know what's funny about the prospect of no one winning a tournament. These guys all work hard, plus we the audience have come to expect that someone will ultimately win. So far that has been the case -- thankfully -- and it may continue to be, but I'm just wondering if it will stay that way, ya know? Speculating, if you will.

I don't get it. Obviously the only way for that to happen is if two players instantaneously both collapse in the final.

I think Nadal's loss yesterday could be a sign of things to come -- and a lesson for all of us. If someone had predicted he'd lose to this nobody, they'd have been laughed out of the thread. And yet he did.

So if the world number 2 and one of the greatest of all time can lose to some nobody ranked 100, and this nobody is certainly not going to go on and win the rest of this matches and take the title, how can we be sure anyone will win 7 in a row?

    We can't be.

    I have two questions:

    1. Who is to blame?, and

    2. What do we do now that officially USO12 has no winner?

I believe FO 2013 might be the first year no one wins. It is quite evenly matched between Nadal and Djoker and Fed may not have the endurance to win 7 matches. I'd say the odds are at least 20% that there is no winner.

I am not sure how they would distribute the prize money though. And if no player reaches the final, who would get the 2000 ATP points?

Wow. Didn't see Nadal's loss coming... Is it possible no one will be able to win 7 matches in a row this Wimbledon?
