I hardly ever see him play, and when I do he looks sullen and overweight. Why has he stopped applying himself? He only has a year or 2 of peak athleticism left anyway.

He's old, nowhere near his former level, and probably just frustrated with himself.

I'm a sucker for one-handed backhands, regardless of their usefulness. :)

But yeah, a very good player all-around. I don't like many of the American players, but he's one of my favorites.

Probably got a hot gf that he proposed to, and is distracted like Roddick is.

On of the few who didn't rely so much on the serve.

In front of my computer, obviously
He is engaged, and he has been dealing with an injury or two (knee for sure). He played Roland Garros and lost in the first round. I'm pretty sure this is his last year on tour, his body is just too banged up to play his style of tennis. He had a decent career, I'm sure he will retire with very few regrets.

I miss him, he's got to be one of the most likeable american players ever, imo.

His game style of little margin for error and reliance on his speed that is not there is not working out for him. Time to call it a career

He might just want one more US Open match. If his ranking isn't high enough, good shot at a wildcard, where he can formally "say goodbye."

I think he was at around 95th in the world prior to the French Open or something. I remember reading a recent interview he did where he was saying he needs surgery, but he's not going to bother until after he's retired, since he's nearing the end of his career anyway.
