Just wondering, but since Tommy Haas has made his comeback he has been wearing a lot of wierd Nike stuff. It seems as though he's not wearing anything that the current players are wearing. For the Pacific Life Open he wore an old black and white Nike sleeveless from last year. It's almost like he is refusing to wear what everyone else is wearing. He's wearing the usual shorts that most players are wearing; he's wearing the old Pete Sampras oscilates, and a red Nike hat. And this week at the Men's US Clay Court Championships he's wearing some red polo shirt with some wide yelowish stripes on the sleeves and down the sides of the shirt. But on the chest where there should be a swoosh there is a stripe with something written inside the stripe, but the pictures aren't close enough to see what it says. But nonetheless the shirt is actually pretty cool looking. I guess my point is, is that Haas isn't wearing a lot of the usual stuff; almost like he is going out of his way to wear things that no one else is. Some of the clothes are old and some I've never even seen before. Strange. OH well, here is a link to the shirt that he wore this week, if anyone recognizes it please let me know, I would be interested in knowing if it is Nike or not, and if it's old or available now. Or maybe Nike is starting to make certain clothes for Haas especially.

    Haas and nike

It is nike stuff but I would imagine that he is wearing it in good faith with hopes that nike steps up after they cut him loose during his injury layoff.

Dunlop still acts like they endorse him; but have you noticed he still uses the old style MW200G Paintjob?

It appears to me that Haas has no endorsements whatsoever.

I guess rightly so, since he hadn't played from October 2002 til February of 2004, at some point during that time frame the companies had to worry about whether he played again AT ALL, and since Haas obviously wasn't able to carry out the duties of his contract (play tennis and wear/use certain brands), he was cut.

Now, it's just in good faith until they sigh him back. Totally opinionated, but even if i didn't have an endorsement, i'd still be wearing nike cuz i don't like the other styles.

As far as his shoes and his racquet (and string too, notice he doesn't have the babolat double line on his racquet anymore).....these are all EXTREMELY important to a tennis player, so if you've been playing with it for so long, you probably wouldn't want to change to something else.

    point well taken,

however, he was gone for over 14 months. Mid way through that, he had to have a 2nd operation on his shoulder. Amongst all of this, from a company's perspective.....it would have been a poor business deal. For one, rumors eventually surfaced that he might retire, and if/when he did come back, was he gonna be a top player that he once was?

I, for one, am glad that these questions have been answered, and Tommy is on his way to the top again.

Since when was flipper using an i.Radical? His frame and head size is way too small to be that. Or was this in the past?

Haas will never wear non-Oscillate shoes, and he's gotta match his apparel to his kicks.

    Come on now.

From what I understand, Tennis Warehouse is the official dealer of Nike tennis stuff; now you can see that Tommy Haas isn't listed as wearing Nike anything which is indicative of the notion that Nike has dropped him and that he is playing without a sponsor. He's still listed as playing with Dunlop stuff though and Dunlop's website is down right now so it's hard to say for sure what's going on there. I would suspect that most people are right but then again, there have been a lot of players to use the old MW paint job since the HM came out. Even before Haas was injured, he switched between the paint jobs more often than there were tournaments so it was very confusing.

I looked at Haas last night on TV, he was wearing a white Nike shirt with what looked like the green from 2002 in stripes on the shoulders. I swear is the same color combo of green from late 2002 that the Nike guys were wearing
