What is the record for most QFs reached after winning a Grand Slam but not winning that Grand Slam again?

Just noticed that Davenport reached 8 Quarterfinals after winning the 1998 US Open but never won it again.

If Federer wins today, he will have reached 8 quarterfinals at the US Open since he won it last.

Nadal has reached 7 quarterfinals after winning the 2009 Australian Open but hasn't won it since.

Becker reached 7 quarterfinals after winning the 1989 Wimbledon.

Evert reached 7 quarter finals after winning the 1981 Wimbledon and 1982 US Open.

Venus has reached 7 quarterfinals after winning the 2001 US Open.

This is one record I DON'T want Fedr to be in sole possession of. Let's tie it with Davenport then mess it up by winning USO18. The trophy will be the consolation prize for not solely hold the record. ;)

Not a record, but one more to add to your list: Edberg reached the AO QFs 7 times (in fact, 7 consecutive) after last winning it in 1987.

Three of the seven hampered by injury (89, 90, 93) + once lost from double match point up on serve, including serving a double fault on one of the match points (91), and once lost three straight tiebreaks (94). Just couldn’t quite get over the line at Melbourne Park.
