    Kneissl Black Star .......

Hard to say which is the very best, but Kneissl came awfully close with the Black Star.

I'm going to disagree that it's a stupid question, or that it is identical to "What is your favorite racket?". It does, however, need some qualification on what makes a racket all-time good. Here are some initial ideas (incomplete list, of course):

Is it important for great players to gravitate toward it and do great things with it? If so, maybe the Head PT57A, Wilson Pro Staff Mid, Dunlop Max 200G, etc. If we need that to happen over a long period, probably Dunlop Maxply Fort or some other woodie.

Is it important for it to make a sudden and dramatic difference in everyone's ability to play the game? If so, Prince Classic.

Is it important for it to be really popular with players of a wide variety of different levels, and to influence what other manufacturers put on the market? If so, maybe the Babolat Pure Drive and APD. If we need that to happen over a long period, Prince Graphite.

Is it important to for it to be treasured long after it's gone, by people who are really into tennis rackets? If so, Head Pro Tour, Head Prestige, maybe Fischer Vac Pro 90, etc.

I guess we'd also need to qualify whether the various iterations of a particular racket count as one racket or as several different ones.

    Fun question, though.

P.S. Hammerhead. (The shark, not the racket.) It's important to know that God has a sense of humor.
