I use more Prince Syn Gut Duraflex than any other string. It lasts longer than original Prince Syn Gut or Gosen OG Micro because of the Kevlar ribbon that's in it. Alpha Gut 2000 is a multifibre string. It's a good soft playing string for the money. These two strings would be a good starting point.

The ones I find with the most feel and power would be Wilson NXT Tour 17 and Babolat X-cell.

Prince Synthetic Gut, original, plays great, has excellent texture and control, isn't harsh and isn't mushy.

I love Prince Synthetic gut with Duraflex, I play Tennis 5 times a week and have had the same set of string in my racket for 2 years, yes the same set!! the tension now is about @45 LOL
It plays about as good as the day I got it done(maybe even better!).
So you can't go wrong with this string.

The reason i haven't strung it is because i live in England and am unable to find anywhere to do it for me.

    Great price aswell!!!

    P.S Come on Tim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For my money and the strings I've tried, Gosen OG 17 is top dog. Softer than PSG, and nearly as durable, it has great playability even through peeling and when it finally breaks. Give it a hit.

    Best 18 Gauge

    I think you might like Tecnifibre's NRG2 18.

If you are talking 16ga, I cannot think of anything that would beat RAB Sensor Fibre in following categories:
    tension maintenance
    durability w/feel
    softness
    non-,movement
No NRG, no Bab X-cel, no nada

I tend to think the original syn. gut has more playability and is more crisp than duraflex but doesn't last as long. The durability isn't that much of a difference. Why play with a string that last longer but feels like crap anyway?

I personally like the laser fiber syn gut for playability vs durability, I also like the OG Micro JC, high playability & tension maintenance with a crisp feel, both under $ 6

NRG2 18? That would probably make me cream my pants upon hitting a few balls, but the strings would pop right after that.

I do not know why all of you are saying technifibre strings for their favorite syn. gut. Technifibre only makes multi's( except for their string called syn. gut)
