Is the number greater than the number of consecutive titles Federer has won?

  3. Federer did 7 once, don't know if he has done more.

2006 US Open, Tokyo, ATP Masters Series in Madrid, Davidoff Swiss Indoors , Tennis Masters Cup , the Australian Open , and the Dubai Duty Free Men's Open.

Just like most of Nadal's stats Federer is just a bit better.

I remember when Federer won 2007 Dubai. It was his 41st win in a row, and he was just 5 short of the open era record of Vilas from 1977. With this hype, Federer then played in the 2007 Indian Wells tournament as the 3-time defending champion, but he lost his first match to Canas. As if this wasn't shocking enough, at his next tournament at 2007 Miami as the 2-time defending champion, Federer lost to Canas again.
