What is with the nostalgia over Serve and volley?

    It was absolutely awesome watching Lopez serving and volleying tonight.

    What a treat! You could see that Djokovic was getting frustrated because a serve and volleyer takes control of the point out of your hands. Makes you feel helpless when you have no chance to even touch the ball. :)

    Which explains why Doubles is SO wildly popular!o_O

    It takes about a zero IQ to run side-to-side on the baseline all day long like a chicken with its head cut off. See ball, run to ball, no IQ required.

    Doubles is indeed wildly popular. The great majority of people in the world who play tennis play doubles, not singles. Almost all USTA league tennis is doubles.

    I hardly watch singles tennis anymore. I prefer watching doubles and mixed doubles.
