I really like all kinds. Really. Even country. But the stuff I mostly listen to is indie, rock, pop, and anything you can dance to/clap along to.

Progressive rock. The old 70-80's bands (Genesis, Yes, Camel, etc) and the neo-progs rockers of today (Flower Kings, Spock's Beard, Dream Theater, etc).

I like just about EVERYTHING but it depends on the mood for which style I pick.

Overall I like rock the best; on the heavy side like Rammstein. Then I might switch to some J Timberlake.

That's a tough one, it also depends on my mood. If I had to choose, I'd have to go 80s/90s alternative rock. Bands like 'Sonic Youth' and 'The Smashing Pumpkins' were brilliant then.

Rios, Garden State is a great soundtrack, and I listen to a lot of soundtracks. But I also listen to everything from classical to bluegrass, old and new. Like everyone says, depends on the moment.

Mainly Older Rock, none of this new "kaiser chiefs and "muse" rubbish (altough Bliss is a great song)

But mostly, GnR, The Who, Lynyrd Skynryd, Thin Lizzy, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix, Dire Straits... etc..... and of course, the greatest band in the world: The Goo Goo Dolls.

Hey Nuke ! great choices, I have several of " Flower Kings cd's along w/ ' Spock's Beard' (Snow), if you like them then check out - Neil Morse,OSI,Transatlantic,' " Porcupine Tree.'

I can listen to just about anything if it's music, and it really depends upon the mood, lately: New Christmas CD by Diana Krall, a little Frank Sinatra Christmas music etc..

Nuke - are you the Stig? (Return_Ace should get that!!)

Meg - what do you define as hardcore? Over here hardcore as a genre is either happy hardcore - which is a terrible dance music variety oft loved by chavs - like drum 'n' bass but faster and on helium. Or, hardcore as in very heavy thrash metal with lots of shouty angry people. Neither of these sounds like your scene.

I believe "Persiana Americana" is a Soda Stereo song. I really enjoy their music, when I catch it on radio, but I don't own any of their stuff. The thing is, eventhough my native language is Spanish, I lived something like my first 10 years of life in London (Wimbledon, to be exact!). So, I guess that marked me. I have to admit that I enjoy music more when it's in English. However, there are exeptions; like the previously mentioned tune!

My favourite genre of music is film scores. Some films with great scores: Kill Bill, Dances With Wolves, Star Wars, Shawshank, Forrest Gump, Last Samurai.
John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri are modern day Mozarts.

    Adely,

I also enjoy the film score genre. Recent faves are Passion of the Christ, Lord of the Rings, and Titanic. I also like a lot of the 90's Disney soundtracks (Aladdin, Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, ect.) On the rock side, there are tons of great movie soundtracks: The Wall, Tommy, Hedwig, to name a few.

currently I'm listening in endless loops: Metric, The Killers, The Strokes.

I'd listen to a band that combined all three, they'd be called: The Killer Metric Strokes.
