Lately, its not keeping my eyes on the ball when volleying. Sometimes I hit extremely sharp angled volley winners without looking, other times I frame the ball and miss / hit a floater. Terrible form, and I'm not quite sure why it has crept into my game.

Well I use to be a clam person, never got angry. Though the accumulation of frustration had turned me into an angry swearing man on the court. I easily get pissed off....and I throw my racquet 5-7 times per a match....lucky very light though.

So my weakness is my resolve and mentality.

I can second that. I wish I could rely more on my backhand. Was brought up to be a one handed backhander and I still have a deep seated belief that the two handed backhand isn't the right way to go about it - in fact I would go as far as saying that it isn't real tennis (sorry Rafa)

i'm fine with players at my level but i have difficulty anticipating the shots that a player a level above me would make. by the time i react to it, it's usually too late.

That one girl in our league whose ass is so distracting it can drop your first serve percentage by about 30%.

Among many other things. But mainly that.

I use to have that problem. Before I switched to private practice, I had group practice, and there was this girl who was incredibly beautiful and hot.

I'm pretty bad at everything, but by far my biggest weakness is mental strength. If I ever find myself in a winning position I get carried away and think too far ahead, and usually end up losing or simply unable to take a break point.

    Ball bashing,patience and predictability....

When things get tight, I run around everything in an attempt to clear bomb inside out forehands that often result in UE's.

My backhand... When I first started playing it was biggest weapon (one-handed, by the way). Somewhere along the way it broke down and became a huge liability to the point where I had to rely on pushing the ball with a two-hander. It's gotten slightly better lately (the one-hander), but nothing compared to how it used to be.

Funnily enough, I've been making some crazy plays with my forehand, which used to be a little weak.

My serve is a pain as well, given my height. But it's probably not as bad as it seems.

My serve. When working, at times it's a weapon but more often than not it costs me games and even matches.

I cringe every time I see "you're" written as "your."

But I guess it's kind of justified since it spares you a total of two symbols.

But the title of this thread, my friend, I can't comprehend.

    I'm almost raging.

    :(

Me too! I can unload on my OHBH when I get the positioning right, but I always overstep and get too close to the ball and jam myself. Always ends up in sitters, for my opponent to just crush or me spraying the ball wide.

Focus, I have to think about the fact that I need to concentrate before every point otherwise I don't keep my eye on the ball through impact, and don't move well... It really is exhausting, I wish I had ritalin...

    Focus, confidence, and intensity.

When I have all 3 of them, my game falls into place and I have nothing to worry about. If I have all of those things working for me, the only way for me to lose is if someone is just genuinely better than me. Without them, I sometimes lose to people who I probably shouldn't. But hey, that's sport.

Id rather hit great shots and play interesting points than win doing easy cheap things to win for the sake of winning.

Ambition - going for the riskier shots instead of playing the percentages.
