Which pro do you think has the weakest stroke in all of mens tennis?

I think there's too many possibilities to have a poll, but in my opinion the Karlovic backhand comes to mind.

The Gonzales backhand comes to mind, especially due to his forehand, although its been "clicking" as of late imo.

Lopez' backhand is pretty weak too.

I'd be surprised if anybody posts that. But speaking of one-handers, what about the Blake backhand, he can hit some good ones when he gets "hot", he also makes a fair share of unforced errors off that shot.

Do you even watch tennis these days? I mean, other than youtube highlights.

His backhand is stronger than his forehand. In case you didn't notice in his match against Djokovic, the go-to play for both players was to attack each other's forehand.

I'm gonna have to disagree there. Solid smooth stroke, and its more consistent in the long run than his forehand. He can hit some big shots on the forehand, but it can get pretty erratic at times.

    Totally agree

I used up all my politeness by not posting on the thread about TMS events being worth more than the slams, sorry. I think you know better than this, and you just post this stuff to get a reaction.

Fish as in Mardy Fish? No way thats the worst in the game, when he's playing good thats his best shot besides the serve.

Roddick's overall net game, especially positioning. He has no clue what to do at net, for a professional.

Agree 100%. I would say his net game is the worst of the top 10, he is completely awkward up there. Its a good thing he is solid at the baseline and has such a strong serve to compensate for it.

    I think that's exactly it.

The other mentioned strokes are known weaknesses for said players, but Santoro's topspin forehand is on a whole different level of "****ness".

McEnroe hit winners with his forehand, Santoro can't even hit that shot further than the service line most of the time.

Santoro did claim that if he knew how to hit a proper topspin forehand, he would have easily made it to the top 10 during his career.

No, getting 'hot' doesn't cut it. Everyone get's hot now and again and with james blake he hasn't been hot since 2006 and his backhand was always a liability. Even his forehand is a shot which is only good when he is 'on'.

What was the point of adding in the clip? All you showed was Mac hitting a good approach shot and a winner off the forehand. If you wanted us to see a shank, who doesn't from time to time.

Those who said Roddick's net game are just plain ignorant and need to watch more tennis. Btw the answer to the OP's question is probably the Karlovic backhand.

Nadal's drop shot is pretty awful. It consistently lands right at the edge of the service box, if not the middle of the court.

Definitely Karlovic's BH.. If you consider mental toughness part of this Tommy haas's mental fragility

Lately, both Nadal's and Murray 2nd serve can be ranked as one of the worst. Finally their opponents are starting to take advantage of it. Blake almost took out Nadal yesterday due to Nadal's 2nd serve. If Blake can do that to Nadal on the slow courts of Shanghai, imagine what would happen on a normal hard court.

I wouldn't say the Gonzo BH is one of the worst shots. The ugliest stroke? Probably. But he makes good use of it, both with top spin (which he takes very early, too) and with that extreme backspin he developed in 2006-2007. It's not exceptional, but when it's on it's a good (ok, maybe decent) weapon.

One of the italians has the worst meatball serve I've seen in a Top 100. It makes Nadal's second serve look like Karlovic. Andreas Seppi, I think? Or maybe it was Volandri, Fognini or Bolelli. I always get the italians mixed up.
