It's exactly the same with the Vapor VI custom made that he wore in previous atr tours...If you see cosely the backsole(where it writes "air zoom" at the VI's)
and the middle sole,it is the same with VI's!The lunarlite have comletely different sole...
Also in the front sole the "air zoom" material does not excist(you cant't see it) and it's the same material and shape like the VI's.
    Here what I mean:

In the exhibition match he wears the retail version. The real Lunalite Vapor!

Here the link if anybody want to see the differences of the custom made Vapor VI and the retail Vapor VI:

Maybe he prefers the previous model...(?)....Maybe Nike did not make his custom shoes yet to test tha shoe firts...I don't know...This is the reason of the threat..If anyone knows let's do it!

as a pro they wear the shoes so much more than we do, its harder for them to change. i remember federer wore the vapor IIs for the whole of 2006 when he should have been wearing the vapor IIIs. nadal took time to change, delpo didnt want to

He will likely go back the the Lunarlites cos i remember in Monte Carlo he played with the V's in the 1st round but then went back the the VI's in the 2nd round.

Well I mean in Doha and Abu Dabi he was wearing the new shoes...even in practice for at the Aussie he was wearing the new shows. However, perhaps his feet were blistering, there could be a ton of reasons.
Plain and simple is that he switched and what is even more amazing is that Nike either made the PJ's so quick or they had a backup just incase roger did not like the new ones.

i know he was sliding round loads against andreev; did he change into the V7's or out of them? cos he started to slip less later in the match and played better. even the commentators noticed the slippage

i dont whether he even changed during the match; i was actually asking if anyone knew whether or not he did. :)
it could have been that he was just playing better close to the end and thus i didnt notice the sliding that much. i do know that he was sliding more so than usual, closer to the beginning, and maybe that was the time he was playing in the lunarlites, after which he might have changed to the older v6's. again though, i dont know this. it would be interesting to see if anyones got pics of his shoes at the beginning of the match and at the end? we could tell then if he did change from the lunarlites into the v6's

Maybe testing his new shoe and still can't satisfy?

Lunarlite vapor's outsole is weaker than VAPOR VI, and I saw a picture that suggested LV's outsole didn't lasted through fed's one match...

    durability can be it's problem.

Not only do they have paintjob's on their rackets, now on their shoes!?
Wouldn't be surprised if he himself is paintjobbed. Federer might be secretly black.

Why does it surprise you guys? Nadal had cages during the AO 09 and till later on in the year did he start wearing the CBs. also you can tell when you look at the bottom of the shoe. I saw a glimpse of it and you can see the thread pattern and shank the same as the vapor tours.

Blake was sliding all over Last week in some newly desighned black fila.
Made the right choice especially going into a grand salami and grabbed some better sticking tires.Witch were Cage 2's with tape to cover the swoosh.
Idd do the same if you can't adapt to the new gear shoes, shirts, strings, sticks,And stick to what you know works.
The O.P is a very observant.TW might notice a slight rise in vapors soon.

Think about it, with such a long season, players are given very limited times to adapt to any changes put into their equipment. OK, they obviously get to test it all months and months in advance, but not usually in competitive scenarios. At this high a level, even something like the change from zoom air to lunar lite is going to be a massive change, so why try to adapt to it during a slam?
    Nice looking though

I just want to remind that the same think had happen one year before...Then the most fans of the vapors had said that the new vapors(vi) were the worst of the vapor series...Now one year later, and after some improvements of NIke (like the spots in the firtst white/silver vapors),the most say that the VI's are real good and appreciated shoes!I think that this will be happen again with the Lunarlite's...Also the stores must sell the stock shoes and previous series of any shoes...
That's my opinion and I think that that's one of the reasons that Federer still wears the previous Vapor's....

There used to be picture in this thread, a close up of Fed wearing the Lunarlite Vapor in a warm up tournament against Davydenko, and the picture showed the midsole of the Lunarlite Vapors tearing and crumbling apart. Picture and comments have apparently been taken down from this thread.
