No, those are the adidas CYD (Change Your Direction) shoes. They are due out in January.

Sorry, Topaz. I've got a pair of the CYDs for women and have also worn the a3 Prevail, but I don't find them similar at all. I know we talked about shoes before, and it sounds like your search is ongoing. Have you tried any others?

I do like the Barricade V a lot. It requires a break-in, but I find the comfort outstanding. Previously I think I recommended the Head Prestige Pro, and I still keep that in my shoe rotation.

Yup, we did talk about the prevails before. I just miss them dearly!

I'm going to finally need to switch probably within a month. I've been looking at the barricades, might wait to see what the CYD is all about, and also some Fila, Wilson, and yes...also the Head that you had recommended previously.

Money is tight, though, so it will probably just be one pair at a time until I find the next 'one'! LOL

    Thanks for your help!

Topaz, the CYD is a training tennis shoe, a bit of hybrid. It's a cross training shoe with a tennis outsole so you can do some on-court training as well as head to the gym. We are testing them so watch for the review, but right now I've been just wearing in the gym because I'm testing some other tennis shoes. Good luck on the shoe search! And of course if you have any questions, you know where to find me :)

changing outsoles? Sounds fishy to me, I remember an old nike shoe with interchangable outsoles, but they each had different colors, not outsoles, but I tried them and they were awful, and squeaked worse than any shoe I've ever tried. But they were old shoes and I think they were only $80, so hopefully adidas will make a better shoe. Can't wait to see the review, I'm a big TW fan.

I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say. The outsoles are not interchangeable. The outsole is designed for use on tennis courts and is solidly affixed to the shoe. The upper is more of a training design with use of mesh. There are some drag guard features, but not as much as a straight up tennis shoe usually seen on an adidas model.

They're called CYD reflex and you can google it. There's also a black with yellow version of the Genius as well as other shoes coming.

I just ordered a pair of the CYD's from TW. Mainly because they reminded me of the late 80's version of the Nike cross-trainers that Mc/Aggasi used to wear. The rich kids from the southside had them when I was in high school while I was still rockin' the Stan Smith's. Shoe therapy I suppose.

TW Staff what do you think of them so far?
