depends on a person's playing style. I played with a 16 gauge Prince Syn Gut. Broke in an hour. Probably a bad batch.

Try Tecnifibre e-matrix in 17 gauge. You're lucky if it does not snap on the stringing machine.

Similarly fragile are cheap guts like Global Gut and Grand Slam Gut, although these do last significantly longer if and when they survive the stringing process.

Yup. I used the Wearguard version twice and it only lasted half as long as the normal Gamma synthetic gut.

Prince topspin for me. One of the worst strings imo, and I was extremely happy to break it

That stuff isn't too bad with string savers. Once the outer coating is gone you have maybe 20 more shots until it snaps.

I haven't tried the 17g but the 16g last me long enough. In a full bed the string movement is slightly more than the typical multi (but on par for a budget multi) but with the right cross string it last and plays nice for such a bargain string.

I've heard titan natural gut has about a 15 percent chance of snapping in the stringing machine though.

I forgot about that one. I think I got 1.5 sets out of it both times I used it. Pretty sad for a 15g string.

On the positive side, you don't have to spend a lot of money or time on your strings.

Any multi or synthetic gut. If I'm lucky I get about 45 minutes out of it (save Wilson Super Spin)

Head Rip Control 17 and Prince Lightning XX 17...both lasted about 6 hours. That is really a very short time for me.. I got 14-16 hours out of X-1 Bi-phase. Appox. 80% of the time I cut strings out when they go dead.. or lose too much tension

I didn't think they still made it in 18.

But sure that would def break faster than 17.

I would say Alpha Gut 2000 snaps the fastest among a lot of multifilaments that I have tested.

Don't think it's just how hard he hits but rather he doesn't put any spin on the ball which I thought was not really possible. However, I know one person who hits with natural gut and even after a month, the string doesn't even fray so it is quite possible though not likely.

I thought it was Gamma Asterisk?

I remember playing in a tournament where they were handing that out like it was free

I can agree with this one. 75 minutes of hitting and it broke in 4 places at the same time.

No disrespect intended, but are you a pusher? No disrespect to pushers either, I've seen some annoyingly masterful ones =/.

Just saying, its either your play style, technique, or lack of power in your strokes. Could be that your strings are godly durable, but usually when they are they die pretty quick.
