I just got a new Prince Tour NXG MP and it came strung with Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex 16g at mid tension which is 58. I was going to make a hybrid of Technifibre X-OneBiphase 16g mains and Babolat Hurricane 17g crosses. What tension should I string them at? The NXG's range is 53-63 but you probably already knew that.

    Thanks

    Drizzt,
What are you looking to get from this hybrid that you are not getting from the all Prince Syn W/Duraflex stringbed?

I usually advise people to only change one variable so its easier to tell what you like or dislike about a change. From there you can adjust up or down if needed.

If you are adamant about altering the tension as well, I would suggest 55lbs would be a good starting point (a little lower to allow for the stiffer nature of the poly).

The real key, however, to adding power and spin to your game is to increase your swing speed. With a faster swing you’ll get both more rotation on the ball, and greater velocity on your shots.

    Good luck.

Thanks Chris. If I was going to change any tension then it was going to be just the crosses. I was just wondering if I should lower the hurricane so it wouldnt feel as stiff? Also did you mean lower both of them to 55 or just the mains or just the crosses?

    Thanks again

If you wanted to drop the tension of the crosses I would suggest going 2-3lbs lower than the mains.
