I just noticed that J. Blake is apparently using a Wilson Six-One BlX, probably a 95. Maybe an 18X20?

I think he's literally been with every company except Head and Babolat...

I feel like I'm trolling, but you have threads that pique my interest  . I honestly don't think it's a pj either, but I'm just going off of pics.

Why isn't there a Wilson stencil on his strings?

He may not be sponsered (yet), another reason I think he's using the real deal. He must've borrowed Mardy's racquet and liked it. :)

Probably doesn't have a Wilson sponsorship (if he didn't, Wilson would probably be fining him at the very moment).

So that means he doesn't have access to PJs... or the Wilson custom room.

I wonder if he left, or was dropped by Dunlop. Maybe he felt he needed a new racquet with his poor results as of late?

Definitely Wilson, not his old Fox frame:

You can see the PWS on the sides of his frame.

So, it IS a BLX Tour... 16X18. This is a fairly big change as far as pros known to be using the exact same racquet (more or less) for 10+ years goes.

There were a few threads a few weeks ago when 2010 started. Blake has switched to the BLX 6.1 Tour 90.

That BLX is a amazing game improvement racket....it will raise your level by 1/2-1 full level USTA level wise...

Why? I imagine he's only been using the K90 for a little while, so he might as well make the switch to the racquet that has the silicone filled handle instead of a foam filled handle... apparently Wilson decided jollyroger was on to something.

If you go to ************** and look at the BLX Six One Tour 90 and you look at "pros using this racket" it lists Roger Federer and James Blake

I wonder if Fed's signature is on the racket? I'm guessing if it's a K90 paintjob then it wouldn't, but if it's a stock B90 then maybe it would?

Seeing that Blake is Federer's biggest fan, he likely has a personalized autographed racquet by Fed with a life-sized portrait of Federer in his bedroom so Blake can wake up and say "too good" to start each day.

Blake's admiration/obsession of Federer continues (when doesn't Blake worship Federer in an interview?). Now switching to Wilson, using Federer's racquet, and might be sporting an RF cap in the near future.

No, it's called Andreev being the biggest choker not mentioned on TT boards. Andreev missed the same shot 3 times when Federer looked ready to give him the set.

As for Blake, I really wonder if going to 90" will do anything good for his game.

Of course, it will do James Wonders.....it will help him reduce all his Unforced errors due to less trampoline effect from the smaller head.......which means more control....

For sure? PS 6.0 85 only bumped my rating from 3.5 to 4.0. Does it eat strings?

His Fox frame had less "trampoline effect" because it was an 18*20 pattern, not a 16*19. At the very least they are the same.

The K90/B90 has a much, much more open pattern than 18X20 because the strings are spaced very even... Although the smaller head size reduces power, obviously. I think power-wise the two racquets would be about even, however the added spin from the more open pattern means his strokes might have the extra margin they sorely need.

Sure seems that way so far. I guess Blake figured if the Six-One Tour 90's worked for Federer in winning 15 Slams, it might just work him and help him win just one Slam. :)

After watching last night's match, Blake made the right decision playing with the BLX90. He stayed with DelPotro right to the very end and hit his backhand better than I have seen in awhile.

Blake is not going to make any friends in the locker room - there goes the 'new racket' excuse...

Looks like JB sees the end nearing - getting the best endorsement deals he can now before it's too late (observation, not a knock - I am a capitalist too).
