I know that Ken was number 6 in the world on the ATP rankings at the end of 1973.....but did he ever get higher than that - even if just for 1 week?

30.04.1975 - he was #2 in the world

I must be having a 'Duh' day......It was simple...just looked it up on the ATP website.

Wow #2 in the World at the age of 40 years 5 1/2 months - Don't think that is going to be improved upon any time soon.

timnz, Yes, his record is awesome. Now we can imagine how strong Muscles must have been in his peak years.

It might be of interest that Rosewall was ranked No1 twice in the World of Tennis yearbooks' comparisons made by Steve Flink. He lead the field for the 1970-1975 period and for the 1971-1976 period. This as a (very) old man.

Flink considered a player's balance against the TOP players at the big events (majors, Davis Cup and a few others).

As I use to say, Rosewall was especially successful at the biggies and against his top opponents.
