Just been to see San Andreas. Not exactly what you'd call high art but two hours of escapism all the same.

One of the worst movies I have ever seen in my life. The propaganda is just too much!

    LOL..wow, ok.

Thats one of the most beautifully produced and amazing action movies ever made. Let me know when you see something with that level of detail to it.

Tons of memorable scenes. Not even sure someone can say this.

    Jurassic World.

2nd rate! I can't believe Spielberg lent is name to such a film (he was executive producer not director). thats probably the main reason it broke world-wide opening weekend records.

Pales in comparison to the original Jurassic Park, which still counts as a classic and is many times better than any of its sequels.

I agree. I was super excited to see it and was pretty underwhelmed. They could've done so many different and cool things with the movie.

On Netflix I watched a Mexican film "The Perfect Dictatorship" or in Spanish, "La dictadura perfecta". I enjoyed it. It was one of the better films I've seen the last few months.

It's a dark comedy about a popular TV "news" outlet that for a fee will provide marketing advice and positive press to politicians. Some more on the film can be read at ~

They really stuff the timing up with release too if they had a propaganda message to tell. They should have waited until like June of next year and got the pro-Republican benefits of it for the upcoming elections. :p

I agree. I didn't even find it that enthralling while watching it even. It was just too silly and really averagely done - especially the script. Nothing about it was memorable imo.

Mad Max 2 was stupid over the top. I thought it was a 2hr rally race also.
The 1st one had a story as did the sequel this one was one punch line and that was it. ( Get my harem back!)

Agree 100% ...And why do people always bring up what ratings it got? Thats what SOMEONE ELSE thought. Who cares? This is what 'I' thought about it.

Forget the ratings, all RT counts in it's % is positive reviews. A film doesn't have to be that special to get mostly positive reviews...

Considering people are walking around to this day saying "what a day, what a wonderful day", I think there was a lot that was memorable about it.

The entire concept of how the culture was created and how they would gladly sacrifice themselves for Valhalla, and spray their faces with chrome before death stuck out to most people.

The Sandstorm scene which was simply unreal stuck out to me.

The final battle on the pogo sticks that was actually done in real life was incredible.

The guitar player with fire coming out of his guitar - epic.

Hey not everyone needs edge movies that are creative. I'm sure many Mad Max haters loved Jurassic Park.

    Alien vs Predator.

Had no expectations, thought it would be actually worse than it was. Not bad at all. Then again, I'm a sucker for Alien/Predator movies.

    Predator. Always rooting for Predator.

I love both creatures. Their story, design, presentation is incredible. The people who came with the idea of each character are geniuses :)

(Mad Max - Fury Road) - If you watch it with superficial mindset, it sucks. What's fun watching a bunch of lunatics driving in a desert. However, it's actually a lot deeper than that.

    The movie deals with:

    1. Migration - throughout history, people migrated to places where they can have security. (last year at least 80,000 people applied for asylum in Sweden. 25,000 so far this year).

    2. Natural resources - today people kill for oil. There will come a time when people will kill for water.

    3. Power - people in power will do anything to keep their power by subjugating or eliminating the competition.

    4. Feminism - why is there war? is it because men get to decide everything? Will a society ruled by women become less chaotic.

    5. symbolism and metaphors - the movie is littered with it.

All in all, it wasn't that bad.... :)

The Little Death - A game of sexual role-playing convinces a man that he wants to become a full-time actor, in one of several stories of suburbanites exploring erotic fetishes.

Absolutely hilarious. Haven't had a good laugh like that from a movie, in a long time. Recommend it. It's very good.

I see we are still talking about Suresh S.
    He is something else.

Ok, movies this past two months....

I watched Boyhood. Again. It changes every time. If it rains, i might watch it for the fourth time this weekend.

Also saw another ethan hawke vehicle, dead poets society. First time. I was too cool for school when it came out and i never got into it until now, watching it with my eldest. Heavier lifting than I had planned. Great fun talking about it with lax sticks in hand.

Also saw Food, Inc. and Fast food nation. Fast food nation (linklater) ran along with boyhood. Some of the same dialogue, almost! Man, Food, Inc. is just depressing.

Saw. Few minutes of Swingers and Blazin' Saddles. Mel Brooks is so money.

Never liked the Alien(s) movies. I always questions how they could be alive when their blood was made of acid that could literally eat through any kind of metal.

Haha, i saw that in the theater. You nailed it. Just a character, but that is the period i did not like him and avoided dead poets society.

Then, because of him, i was negative on "before sunrise" even though it was good.

I think because of linklater, hawke grew on me this past few years. Now i am really proud of the two of them.
