Beautiful young Cybil Shepherd in this film. The middle age housewife having an affair with the boy is played very well by Cloris Leachman. Didn't she win an Academy Award?

Knowing @vive le beau jeu ! he must have seen it in Finnish.

He is still looking for Nadal, so no question of sitting next to him. ;)

I can agree with the Lex Luthor negativity. I'm hoping this is just a noob Luthor and the one we see in the next movie wont be so Jesse, but hard to see it since Jesse is in the role. Prison will change a man, etc.

    I enjoyed this. 7/10.

Rambling Rose (1991) - Interesting movie about a promiscuous girl who starts living with a good Christian family who looks after her and loves her. Laura Dern and Robert Duvall.

Before that I saw a Woody Allen flick, Bullets over Broadway (1994).

Been watching Swimming Pool (2003). Had some interesting bits, but mostly I found it pretty dull

According to Wiki she did for Best-Supporting Actress. A real eye-opener on how much Western(Anglo-American?) cinema has changed regarding the boundaries of intimacy that could be shown in a film. I like how really old films provide a some what semi-accurate glimpse of the past in much the same way as oldie songs.

Is this a remake of Summer of '42 ?

In the background, people seem to be walking out of the theater ...

Maybe @Bartelby should answer since he professes to be the film critic of this forum.

When I say a movie is good, i basically mean I liked it/enjoyed it, not that it was good. I am truly a "cultural barbarian" as some intellectuals would say and wouldn't know good art if it hit me on the head.

Laura Branigan (self control) is a fine piece of work.

I watched Whiplash. It couldn't really keep my attention in the current age of smart phones and facebook. Nah, I don't know. JK Simmons was great, I didn't think much of the main character. Maybe because he treated Supergirl so badly. Pretty average for me.

Morality tale of agonizing over drone strikes, collateral damage, war conducted by laptop. Well acted, Alan Rickman's farewell performance.

Very interesting. Interesting relationship between mother and daughter. Also, her own pursuit of perfection and what it does to her.

    Currently, halfway through Cromwell (1970).

Richard Harris plays Oliver Cromwell, Alec Guinness plays King Charles I. Interesting stuff about the parliament taking on the King, and the Civil War that ensued.

Saw Mulholland Drive on TV, after having seen it years ago in the theater. It is a great movie for all the right reasons- not just an enjoyable movie. In some ways it is almost incomprehensible- like a disturbing dream, like a discussion of free will, like the creative process in a Capitalist system, like life- but better and worse.
