Watched last night..
Machete and lol that movie is awesome.
You will meet a tall Dark Stranger. it was OK i guess.
Sins of My Father, it is a documentary about Pablo Escobar from the son's perspective. It is AMAZING.
RED last night - not bad. I feel the story had more legs that they gave it though. It was entertaining but could have been so much more.
I saw Nightmare on Elm st. on Sat. Absolutely pathetic!
I saw back to the future in the theater on the 25th, it was actually pretty cool, though some people knew a little to much about the movie, but people were calpping and cheering at certain points.
There sure are a lot of movie snobs in this thread. If it's not an independent/Sundance-type movie, or foreign, then it must not be worth watching.
The newest Robin Hood with Russel Crowe.
Certainly worth a watch.
Jackass 3D wooo
Personally speaking, I like GOOD movies. Yes, that means a lot of indie and Sundance fare, but I also like Superbad and Something about Mary and The Jerk, which ain't exactly art films.
Disliking bad movies is not snobbery.
hey lets be fair lots of indies are totaly crap too!!
Absolutely. A bad indie is potentially worse than a bad Hollywood movie.
Next movie I see will be "Revenge of the Bedbugs"....quite a number of people I know in the NYC area are now staying away from theatres as they're convinced their seat cushions will have bedbugs. (And yes, bad indies are the worst, as you don't even have decent effects and lavish sets to enjoy.)
"Winters Bone". Thumbs up on this crack belt family drama.
V is for vengeance, on recommendation of posters here. It was like... zorro crossed with phantom of the opera crossed with network crossed with equilibrium...
You mean V for Vendetta?
lol yeah... tired
Watched My Girl and Ever After with the wife...
Now watching the Documentary Cropsey.
"Downhill Racer". Not bad, although I'm so stupid I thought the guy who gets seriously injured in the first scene was Robert Redford, and the whole movie was a flashback. Later I looked and realized it was a different actor. Totally changes everything...
OMG,, who is the hot girl with the leg ?
A minor player in the movie, but here is Pia Degermark:
Adventureland, best flick with an amusement park since Zombieland. No Vacation
Just watched 500 Days of Summer, the movie that inspired this thread, again. Still can't get over how similar my feelings about love are to Tom's.
Just bought and watched Toy Story 3 on DVD. Literally the first DVD I bought in 6 or 7 years
Last four films watched: "Meet the Parents," "Boogie Nights," "Almost Famous," and "Green Street Hooligans."
I think Boogie Nights may be about the best film of the last 20 years, second only to GoodFellas.
Saw "letters to juliet" last night with the wife. Terrible movie!
I guess I'm in the mood for long biopics:
"Che", part 1 and 2
"Mesrine" part 1 and 2
Both very good yet completely different. The former is often quiet and contemplative while the later is as flamboyant and outrageous as the infamous French gangster. Benicio del Toro and Vincent Cassel are excellent in the lead roles.
And I'm not done yet since I'm waiting for the UK Blu-ray of the 5 1/2 hours "Carlos", the story of Venezuelan revolutionary/terrorist Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, directed by Olivier Assayas.
Starship Troopers with Doogie Howser MD. It looked a lot like they had a scene with kids stomping on cockroaches and squishing them. It didnt look fake. Quite disturbing.
Watched Apocalypse Now for the first time (redux version). My expression after the movie finished....
I enjoyed it though...
watched My Cousin Vinny again the other night. Laughed my &%^ off.
Miss great flcks like that one and Joe's Apartment, La Cucaracha fest.
2 films worth mentioning...
Revolutionary Road ( 2008 )
- by Same Mendes, *ing De Caprio and Kate Winslet
what a movie!! brilliant performances.. kate is a genius..
must say not for light movie watching...haunting drama
Skin Deep ( 1989 )
- by Blake Edwards, *ing late John Ritter
I had not see this hilarious movie before...John was just amazing as usual
The Green Berets with John Wayne
Despicable Me 3D
Being John Malkovich
Interesting movie ...I am a fan of John Malkovich , so I enjoyed it !
"Secretary", with James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhall.
The Social Network Excellent stuff. Must see this movie.
I miss Harvard...
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
127 hours. Gross, but really good.
Against the Current- liked it. Ok Heycal, this was more a movie I can enjoy, I liked the way the mood and pace was incorporated in the movie. A much better recommendation than that outdated , ostentatious Dog Day Afternoon.
The Human Centipede (First Sequence)
The most awesome movie ever!!
