You will meet a tall Dark Stranger. it was OK i guess.

Sins of My Father, it is a documentary about Pablo Escobar from the son's perspective. It is AMAZING.

RED last night - not bad. I feel the story had more legs that they gave it though. It was entertaining but could have been so much more.

I saw back to the future in the theater on the 25th, it was actually pretty cool, though some people knew a little to much about the movie, but people were calpping and cheering at certain points.

There sure are a lot of movie snobs in this thread. If it's not an independent/Sundance-type movie, or foreign, then it must not be worth watching.

Personally speaking, I like GOOD movies. Yes, that means a lot of indie and Sundance fare, but I also like Superbad and Something about Mary and The Jerk, which ain't exactly art films.

Disliking bad movies is not snobbery.

Absolutely. A bad indie is potentially worse than a bad Hollywood movie.

Next movie I see will be "Revenge of the Bedbugs"....quite a number of people I know in the NYC area are now staying away from theatres as they're convinced their seat cushions will have bedbugs. (And yes, bad indies are the worst, as you don't even have decent effects and lavish sets to enjoy.)

V is for vengeance, on recommendation of posters here. It was like... zorro crossed with phantom of the opera crossed with network crossed with equilibrium...

"Downhill Racer". Not bad, although I'm so stupid I thought the guy who gets seriously injured in the first scene was Robert Redford, and the whole movie was a flashback. Later I looked and realized it was a different actor. Totally changes everything...

Just watched 500 Days of Summer, the movie that inspired this thread, again. Still can't get over how similar my feelings about love are to Tom's.

I think Boogie Nights may be about the best film of the last 20 years, second only to GoodFellas.

I guess I'm in the mood for long biopics:

    "Che", part 1 and 2
    "Mesrine" part 1 and 2

Both very good yet completely different. The former is often quiet and contemplative while the later is as flamboyant and outrageous as the infamous French gangster. Benicio del Toro and Vincent Cassel are excellent in the lead roles.

And I'm not done yet since I'm waiting for the UK Blu-ray of the 5 1/2 hours "Carlos", the story of Venezuelan revolutionary/terrorist Ilich Ramirez Sanchez, directed by Olivier Assayas.

Starship Troopers with Doogie Howser MD. It looked a lot like they had a scene with kids stomping on cockroaches and squishing them. It didnt look fake. Quite disturbing.

Against the Current- liked it. Ok Heycal, this was more a movie I can enjoy, I liked the way the mood and pace was incorporated in the movie. A much better recommendation than that outdated , ostentatious Dog Day Afternoon.
