Birbiglia is hilarious. Great flick.
As someone in a very long term relationship, I found this movie incredibly disturbing. Seemed like a very realistic depiction of the events that lead up to an affair.
Jack Reacher. Really good actually.
Watched Ip Man on NetFlix last night. Not really a fan of martial arts flicks anymore, but this was a surprisingly good movie. Looking forward to watching part 2 tonight.
Zero Dark Thirty
Exceptionally well made thriller (though we all know how it ends). Has a documentary feel so it's short on character development, but the performances are splendid.
Watch the Korean movie Man From Nowhere, it's on Netflix too.
Don't know how many times I've seen it by now, but I can't help but watch it when it airs on TV.
Ever go to a comedy and NOBODY in the audience laughs? We saw this film by default when our first choice was sold-out, and the silence was deafening. Comedy, Steve Martin once said, is not pretty, and this film makes the mistake of trying to be sweet and sentimental, which destroys the chance of real humor. Avoid this dog.
whoa!.. where do I start.. it is such a ride filled with brilliance.. uneasiness.. yet with all the Tarantino intrigue..
Christoph Waltz is just brilliant again!!
^^he was awesome in django, but i'd have also like to have seen John Malkovich play that role too
surely Malkovich could do a great job in that role (or any for that matter) .. but to me it looks like Tarantino wrote that part just for Christoph ('german' doc turned bounty hunter)
I saw Looper recently with Joseph Gordon Levitt and Bruce Willis. I thought it was really good action movie
Agreed, awesome movie, and Waltz was just as good as he was in Inglorious *******s.
Thanks to everyone who commented on Another Earth. Finally saw it this morning. Bit different than expected.
This is 40 sucked.
Jack Reacher - not a half bad movie at all. I doubt it'll gain any critical acclaim but it was entertaining.
Life Of Pi - I love the book, I liked very, very, very much the movie. Much more than expected actually.
Yep I liked it too.
The Hobbit - far too long & boring.
watched looper a couple night ago, was not impressed at all
close to a major bust..only agreed more after reading some reviews on imdb
Ted, however, provided many laughs (6-7/10)
Despite a top-heavy cast (Penn, Nolte, Brolin, Gosling, Stone) this film breaks no new ground, wheeling out every gangster film cliche. Ultimately, not very satisfying.
Imo comedy of the year
Funny and violent. A very nice blend and GREAT cast
Saw The Hobbit. Spend almost 20 bucks on that crap.
LOTR was awesome. But this one reminded me of some sort of children adventure flick like Joruney to the Center of the Earth.
What a crap ass movie that was.
Life of Pie on the other hand was very enjoyable.
^ "Life of Pie"
I watched "A Streetcar Named Desire" last night. Boy, the young Brando was sooooo good looking back then. Great film.
The inevitable blue parody, no doubt.
Mad Max 1 and 2 were on AMC yesterday so I watched the first one. They're being played again right now so I'm watching again. Always surprised by how young Mel looks in the first one.
Not a big Mel Gibson fan but Mad Max 1 and 2 are my favorite Mel films by far. Braveheart is a bit of a distant third.
Glad you got it.
Zero Dark 30 was pretty good, a lot longer than I expected, if you're expecting a movie focusing on Seal Team 6, this isn't it, most of the movie is dedicated to the intelligence side.
The Cabin in the Woods - very, very good!
Dark Shadows. Depp is hilarious.
Sound track/album is GOAT.
Skyfall. Thought it was one of the best Bond movies in a while.
Dark Night Rises - decent movie, wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be, but the little twist in the end helped.
I watched this Bane parody ( http://io9.com/5967142/bane-explains-the-importance-of-fiber-in-these-dark-knight-rises-outtakes ) before I watched the whole film and it sort of ruined the Bane character for me. I just wanted to laugh and repeat the fiber line.
- I AM -
very good documentary from Tom Shadyac the guy who made Ace Ventura, Bruce Almighty, Nutty Professor, etc.. http://iamthedoc.com/
heard about it here from another poster.. don't remember who.. but thanks .... finally got to watch it.. inspiring...
Mean Girls. Never fails to amuse me
Jerry Maguire. Show me the money!
Looper - decent movie. Started out as kind of a cool, time paradox, action chase movie, then turned into Akira with time travel.
Ha,that's hilarious!
Django unchained - Awesome movie.
Djokovic -- the D is silent.
Saw Django Unchained yesterday.
As others have said, it's a fantastic movie. Waltz deserves a statue for his performance.
No car chases, no leaping off tall buildings, no time travel, but more intensity than any of the films with all that crap. Not for stimulus-bound thinkers.
" Cool Running" - Had a date that needed to be put in a good mood - it worked
I just got Argo, Lincoln, and Les Miserable in the mail on DVD. Lincoln, tonight. I hear it's great. I have Cool Runnings on VHS, too. Such a fun watch!!
lol gotta love cool runnings
Finally saw Skyfall
If we take bond's and Javier Bardem's performance and the pretty bond girl out of the movie, we are left with a steamy pile of sh*t.
There are more holes in the plot than a pasta strainer
