As the title says, what would you like to see happen in 2013? Anything (realistic) can be put forward (I'm sure some banter could be exchanged here). Note my favourite players are Murray, Federer, Hewitt, Azarenka & Sharapova so some will involve them.

A healthy Nadal (and ATP & WTA tours in general).
Murray to win Wimbledon beating Nadal in SF and Federer in Final (and improve overall H2H against Nadal).
Federer to beat Nadal to win French Open.
Azarenka to beat Serena Williams to win Wimbledon (and improve H2H overall against Serena).
Sharapova to improve overall H2H against Serena.
Azarenka & Sharapova to become the big rivalry in Women's tennis (Serena OWNS them at the moment so both of them beating her elevates them).
Safin to return (would love that).
Hewitt to have a steady year, maybe beat one of big 4 in a smaller tournament.
Masters 1000's and WTF Final to return to best of 5 sets.
Top seed's receiving byes in all 250's and 500's.

A young player to break into the top ten and eventually #1(not 2013). I like Murray and Djokovic but I really don't want to watch 5 more years of them. Fed and Nadal are already declining.

A healthy Nadal winning titles on HC/Grass, he's proved himself enough on clay
Murray to win Wimbledon - that'll be great for British Tennis
    Azarenka to win the USO
Serena to remain in great form
Djokovic to save more match points - these type of matches become highlights of the year for me
A young player to get that crucial breakthrough
Someone other than the top 4 winning something big (a major or WTF?)

harrpau7 - with nadal ranked no.4 it'll be unlikely that he and murray will meet in the SF of slams anymore, provided nadal stays ranked no.4, although if murray become no.2 this can happen

Good point, although I think come Wimbledon time Murray will be number 2 in the world anyway. I think Federer will start to fall after Wimbleodn next year, come US Open I think Djokovic and Murray will be top 2, and then towards end of year Nadal will overtake Federer.

-I would love to see the ATP Tour finals to have no tiebreaks in the last set. Kinda like the Olympics.
-Serena to get the calendar year Grand slam
-ANYONE to beat Rafa at Roland Garros
    - Djokovic to win Roland Garros
    - Fed to win Wimbledon
-Murray to Retain his Us Open title
    - A Futurestar to win a masters or get far in a grandslam
    - GB to stop boasting about their Davis cup team...

    Rafa- Back to 100%
Murray- to win his 2nd Slam(hope it's wimbledon)
Hewitt - to have a (91 US open conners like run to the semi's) at the AO
Fed- to regain or Continue holding the #1 spot.
    Monfils- Back and healthy
Tipsy- to make it into the top 5
David Goffin - into the top 10
4 different winner for each slam (I liked the variety of winners this year)

    I'd go with
    Novak AO
    Rafa FO
    Murray WIM
    Fed USO

Murray to win AO, Fed to win FO beating Nadal in final, Djoker wins Wimbly and Fed / Djoker wins USO.

Fed to win 2/3 Masters and WTF.

Nadal comes back healthy but fails to anything bigger; either drops below 5 or gets another injury.

A new player emerges with a good run in two slams atleast; tennis badly needs a new face.

Hewitt retires; Berdych and Tsonga chokes in slams and again. Delpo makes some inroads but won't reach a slam final.

Raonic has the potential to be the new face reaching a SF; but who will he beat? Nadal looks the more possible in Wimbly if he doesn't win FO coz he'll be down mentally as well.

Some of these might contradict one another, but there are lots of outcomes that would make me happy.

Djokovic: My ultimate hope is to see him return to 2011 levels and go even further to win a calendar year Grand Slam. I know that is *very* unlikely to happen so I won't hold my breath too hard :). Realistically, I'd like to see him win at least one slam since I didn't get back into tennis until after the AO this year so have yet to see him win a slam. It would be nice for that slam to be the French. (Finally marries Jelena!)

Nadal: Back in the game and injury free for the entire year.

Murray: Would be nice to see him finally get his Wimbledon win.

Federer: Stays firmly in the top 4.

Berdych, Tsonga, Tipsy, Del Potro: Would love to see a handful of Masters (or a slam) go to one or more of these guys.

Querrery: Would like to see him rise above Isner as the highest ranked American player.

Fish: Healthy enough to have a full, successful year. I'd like to see him win one more title before he retires.

Dimitrov, Goffin: Or another of the younger guys break through to get their first title and break the Top 20.

There should be a post for fears too. My biggest fear after all the doping posts is a big doping scandal.

Rafa and Roger playing doubles together and winning the Grand Slam!
More realistically, one more slam from Roger, a healthy Nadal, Milos making a final of a slam and a time limit imposed on Murray-Nole matches...

Bellucci: get to the top 20. win at least two ATP 250. better participation in slams. much much better mental strenght.

Roger: no need to regain #1 spot or even stay in the top 5. I just hope to see him win one more grand slam (Wimbledon/US Open). I will not be disappointed if he doesn't.

Nadal: to come back strong, winning one or 2 grand slams (French Open and/or Wimbledon).

Aside from that, it would be nice to see someone from outside the top4 winning a couple of masters titles (or maybe even a slam, but the chance seems slim).

I would also like to see Brazil beat USA in the Davis Cup, though I know this is an unreal expectation which can only lead to disappointment...

I would like to see Murray win a normal slam (no wind, no tired opponents in the final), since his US Open title involved a lot of luck. He needs to prove that he can actually win a slam, and not just get lucky all the time.

So yeah, Murray still has 0 slams, that's right.

    Ok what I would like

    -Djokovic to win RG
-Federer to win either Wimby or Us Open
    -Djokovic to win Cinci
    -Delpo to win a masters
    -Federer to win Rome
-Federer to somehow notch up 312 weeks at number one which would be 6 years in total
-Djokovic to win MC. Or basically anyone but Nadal, but Djokovic is probably the only one with a chance of breaking Nadal's hold there.
-Fed to beat Nadal in a slam. Any one will do.
-Some new player to come through in a big way, like Raonic winning a masters or making a slam semi, or someone like Dimitrov getting -into the second week of a slam, beating a top player etc.

    - Nadal to win AO, US Open, Miami AND Cincinnati Masters; and take back the world's number 1 and Queen's ATP 250; also win WTF
    - Murray to win Wimbledon
-Djoker to win the French Open
    - Federer to take Davis Cup Championship. Next year might be the last chance he can do it.
    - Raonic or Nishikori to take a Masters 1000, maybe IW or Canadian Open where both will play against each other; either one is ok
    - Goffin or Klizan to get to a Masters F or at least QF of a GS
    - Ferrer to reach GS F, even just once
    - Soderling and Robredo to come back in full form/health; and Monfils and Petkovic
-Filip Peliwo to crack top 75

On the road from would of to would have
    - Federer beats Nadal a few times this year to balance the H2H a bit, also does it in a slam.
    - Federer also wins a slam, preferably not Wimbledon (I like Pete Sampras want him to have the 7 Wimbledon record still)
    - Federer completes the career masters series.
    - Djokovic gets the French.
    - Murray wins a slam.
    - Newcomer wins a slam, someone young and promising.
    - No injuries for top players.
    - Big wins for some of the oldies e.g. Hewitt, Blake etc...
    - US Open goes back to being a bit faster.
    - No massive chokes from players.

    A new slam winner.

Roger to win 1 last slam (Rafa at RG would be perfect) and retire in Basel after his 7th win.

    No more Murray-Djokovic finals.

-Fed getting to all 4 slam semis again
-Cincy being the best tournament ever, since I'll be there again

when Fed and Nadal get to old to play singles in slams, they should team up in doubles. That would be brilliant if they did and won a slam. Beating Djokovic and Murray haha
