I need something that wont shear against the poly main too quick, if there is such a string.

Depending on the particular poly you are using, you can try Gosen OG, Prince Synthetic w/Duraflex, or, for something even more playable, Tecnifibre X-One. The Tecnifibre will start to fray, but still holds up rather well, especially in the crosses. It may not be the best if used with a textured poly. Hope this helps.

I only have experience with Big Ace 16 as a poly. I tried a 2 hybrids, one with PSGD 16 in the crosses and the other one with Gamma 16 in the crosses. The PSGD frayed pretty badly while the Gamma held up much better. Good luck.

Try Pro Supex FT Rough. Inexpensive -- and what you want/need.
