He had a hip surgery and is probably working on getting fit.

He had a hip surgery, and he'll be back at Auckland next year, and most likely will use a protected ranking of #15 or #16 for the Australian Open.

  5. I miss him a lot, his highest level is even better than Nadal`s Murray`s and Djokovic`s imo.

His blood pressure and cholesterol level, that's what's up.

    Hope he comes back soon.

His fitness is an interesting question. He always had that belly fat, but I don't remember him fading in any tournament, even going 5 long sets. Maybe he doesn't train as well as he should, or maybe he's just naturally pudgy and the training takes him to where he is, or was before the injury.

Hopefully he'll be back better than ever and the injury has brought more focus to his training.

It's going to be interesting how Nalbandian recovers next year. It was the same hip procedure that Magnus Norman, Guga Kuerten, and Lleyton Hewitt all had. Norman never really recovered, while Kuerten had some flashes of great play after his surgery. I remember Guga killing Federer his only Grand Slam loss in 2004 at the French. It's good to see Hewitt back in the top 20 after his surgery.
