I just saw a new Mustang 2005. Wow, I never liked their recent versions but this is different. It's retro, reminded me Steve McQueen's green fastback (remember Bullitt? Mustang vs. Superchager?). 60s Vette would be very nice. What's your dream car?

It's probably a toss up between the Acura NSX and the Porche 911 GT3.

The new Mustang is a great ride, but I just can't picture any American car in my 'dreams'. Not even the Viper.

1976 Cadillac Eldorado Pimp Mobile. I owned one back in the day (early 90's)-drove it until it died. If I had the choice and some dough to spare for refurbushing and modernization, I would get another one. NOTHING rides quite like that boat.

I'm waiting a while for the 2004 Honda S2000 to drop in price just a bit. Lots of fun to drive and lots of mechanical technology on offer for the $$$.

Ahhh yes indeed! The McLaren F1 can't be beat. Of course a dream THAT good is likely to be the local law enforcement's biggest nightmare!

    Close. I believe it was a 454.

Ahh, David, that image almost brought tears to my eyes. What a sweet composition.

My dream car is my 2001 Porsche Boxster S. Absolutely love driving it with the top down, and taking corners at 40+. Drives like it is on rails!

Delorean (sp?)...like the one in Back to the Future...so I could go back in time to when I was four years old and start taking tennis seriously so I could have been a pro and now retired with plenty of money. It would also help in financing my demo habit. :)

I test drove one. Very nice. Probably the finest 6 speed on a production car anywhere. Ended up buying a 2005 Miata. Trans is nearly as good, but certainly not the straight line speed...but it's like driving a slot car!!!!

Of the new cars out there, it would have the be the Porsche GT3. Vintage car would have to be a Ferrari Daytona. Muscle car; 1970 Hemi 'Cuda. British sports car; 71 Triumph TR6. Bike; '65 Triumph Bonneville. Race car; the Group C version of the Porsche 962 (Rothman's paint scheme) or the 427 version of the GT40. Luxocruiser; BMW 760 Li. I need a bigger garage!

1969 Camaro ZL-1. All aluminum 427, baby! David, if you want something beyond the badass factor of the 426 Hemi, the 440 Magnum is actually just as good, if not better at the dragstrip, without the tuning headaches.

Could you enlighten me as to why the aluminium 427 was reffered to as the 'rat' motor?

I own a 2003 Emerald Mica Miata. Love it to death. It's an absolute blast to drive. I did drive a friend's 2004 S2000. I can't remember driving a car that was so eager to rev. It didn't feel like the engine even knew what friction is. My Miata's shifter is great, but the Honda's just glided between gears. My only concern is that it seemed a little tail happy and when it did break loose it didn't do it as predictably as my Miata. I still want one though. I definitely want to wait for a 2004, so I can get the increased power and torque at lower revs.

The hemi version is worth a whole lot more, in collector's terms. The horse power specs for the 440/4 barrel was 375 while the hemi was 425. I think if you placed either on the dyno, you'd see that these are conservative numbers, however. I know GM lowballed the hp numbers on the above 427 you mentioned.

The new Ferrari F430 tops my list. Absolutely awesome sounding V8 engine, great car inside and out. Very close to that car is the new Ford GT or a '71 Hemi Cuda.

Ya know, it's almost scary--our tastes are so alike. Now that Chad's beaten me to the Pinto punch:

Chad: Remember those baseball "H.R. billboards" in the old ballparks---"Hit Sign...Win Suit!" ??
The Pintos should've come with bumper stickers: "HIT REAR--WIN LAWSUIT!"

    Runners Up:
    1. AMC Gremlin (1/2 a car)
    2. Chevy Vega (w/warped aluminum heads)
    3. Plymouth Vallient

    Honerable Mention:
    1. Lotus Europa --- Brittish racing green
    2. Chevy Malibu S.S. 396 --- blue
    3. Bentley Arnage---with Frodo Baggins drunk-as-a-skunk in the back seat
and holding (among other things), a fifth of Johnny Walker Blue).

Gee, it would be very nice if we can 'DEMO' all the cars (4 cars in a box for a week only $10!). There are some cars I feel strangely amusing. One is Honda 90-93 accord. Nothing special just gentle/neat design and I am not even a Honda fan. But I like this specific design very much (I still drive one!).
