Does anyone think that a wheel caster kit would be worth developing for Ektelon D, DE and H machines? Might fit Neos as well but would have to confirm. Kit would consist of 4 wheels, thread tap, tap handle and a guide block to keep the tap vertical while tapping the existing 4 holes in the Ektelon base. No drilling would be needed. Price would probably be in the $30 to 40 range for 4 locking casters with dual 2"wheels on each caster. Please note that the casters raise the height of the machine about 2-3/4 inches.

Being able to put a stringing machine out of site might be a real advantage, especially for the occasional stringer.

I'm just speaking for myself as the owner of a Neos for about 5 years but I would not be interested. In that time I have moved my Neos once, about 20 feet from one room to another.

I have them on my Gamma 6004 and love them for ease of moving out of the way, to the TV, etc. (Home stringer)

I did buy the Gamma casters, they're nice but they cost 2x what you are suggesting (no tapping needed). I could have found others cheaper but the ease of the gamma offering made it simple.

Are they already threaded, the legs/feet?

I have a Neos and bought casters at Home Depot or Lowe's. They are three wheeled and have a hole in them and work fine.

I bought caster wheels for my Gamma X-ST. What a great investment! For some reason my wife does not like the stringer by the TV. Crazy right? :)

You should have put the TV on wheels.

Yes. Mine is on casters but it took some engineering and a little trial and error. I move it every time I use it as it lives in a closet when not stringing.

I took the plunge, ordered and have installed the casters. Wanted to give some feedback.

Installation was straightforward. Everything you'll need is included. The tap was right for the job (the aluminum base is pretty easy to tap)
Toughest part was removing the old "feet" that are just soft rubber pushed into the holes in the base.
I took pictures and I could post if there is interest.

It does raise the height of the stringing machine but I just lowered the opposite end.

Congratulations to David for a well thought out and executed product.

This thread covers what works for a Neos 1000 and 1500.

my mistake, forgot to add the link. Probably OBE, but between Minitraveler, Rabbit and my own luck, we have found some options that work with Neos 1000 & 1500. Don't know if these work well with the Ektelons. No offense or negativity intended. Just proffering options.

Graycraft, I see the title of the thread as "Wheel Caster Kit for Ektelon Machines".
The original post mentions Ektelon D, DE and H machines.
I don't think I am hijacking the thread.

There are places that sell casters that will fit any machine for like $2 each. Great Lakes Casters for one. That is where I bought casters for my upright crank machines. Work great. (Get the locking ones. )

The holes in the Ektelon bases are not threaded and must be tapped before a caster can be installed.

That is a shame as my Prince Neos bases were threaded. I wrote in this thread in 2013 that I wouldn't install casters on my Neos but I ended up adding them a couple months ago (never say never) and they easily screwed into where the old feet were installed.
