Though about something re: swing weight. The difference in weight between a racquet fully strung with syn gut and full poly is roughly 6-7 grams. Thats a pretty large difference when it comes to swingweight.

When you guys measure swingweight do you use full poly, are the strings the same..etc?

Just interested in that variable and if you think it matters in nailing SW accuracy for your posted specs.

I know in the past when I went to full poly, the racquet swung noticeably heavier and it took a few minutes to get used to. I am guessing the variable could be as much as 6-10 SW points.

Good question. I have often wondered if some of the attributes we associate with poly aren't somewhat due to the added weight, as you are basically adding 20-30" of lead to the hoop!

    Hi Power Player,

    Great point.

You are correct on the effect of string weight on swingweight. It's hard to address the averages spec variation without knowing the head size and pattern, both of which affect the installed string weight.

Currently, we use a standard nylon-based string for our spec'd racquets (which adds roughly 14-15 grams to a 95 sq in. 16x18 frame). If you are concerned about getting exact specs, I suggest giving us a call so we can pull the one closest to your preference. The reason I suggest this is because minor variations in weight distribution from the factory can also affect swingweight.

Provided we have enough samples on hand, we spec multiple racquets in order to better represent the specs. Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
    Jon

A flea landed on my strings last night and completely messed up my strokes until he flew away.
