The future of women's tennis look rather bleak.

Just 3 teenagers (Vaidisova, Ivanovic, Golovin) among the top 30 today!

At the beginning of the so-called "golden age of women's tennis" (late 80ies and 90ies) it was quite different.
For example: At the end of 1988 there were Graf (19), Sabatini (18 ), Zvereva (17), K. Maleeva (19), Rehe (19), MJ Fernandez (17), Sanchez (17), Kelesi (19) among the top 20. The FO 1988 saw Graf (18 ), Sabatini (18 ), Zvereva (17) and Sanchez (16) in the semis!

    1989 we had Seles (15), Martinez (17) crack the top 10, in 1990 Capriati (14!), in 1994 Davenport (18 ) and Pierce (18 ), in 1995 Majoli (18 ), in 1996 Hingis (15), in 1998 V. Williams (17), in 1999 S. Williams (17).

Perhaps the minimum age rule was wrong?
But today we have a lot of old hags running around, being injured all the time. Where are the fresh teens??

There are hills and valleys in life. You can't just expect it to be completely consistant. A time will come where there will be alot of teens at the top of the game again.
