From near the Ethiopian-Eritrean border, my ancestors were a group of around 150 individuals, like every other non-African person.

Born, 1667 in the New Netherland. Grew up in the Province of New Jersey until 1776 (anyone notice the correlation between 1776 and 1667?), when it became the State of New Jersey.

How'd you like Scotland? I love Scottish culture, so jw

    That's the bitter reality...

My heart is 50% in Italy and 50% in South Beach, Miami.

Once I'll retire, I gotta make a decision where to spend the rest of my life. Just another 20 years

Germany when I lived there for like 2 1/2 years was amazing! I lived in Bamberg I liked it a lot. I am from Ft.Hood, Texas I would call Junction City, Kansas my home though military moves a lot and this is the longest place we have stayed.

    Hey, that's great!

I hope you had the opportunity to learn the language and get to know the country a little.
I know of some soldiers stationed in Heidelberg who pretty much live in a 'bubble'. They have their Army homes, their own shops where they can buy all the American stuff they know from home etc. and don't really get in touch with the outside world.

I find that a little sad. When I was in the United States I wanted to get the whole experience of living in another country - like speaking English all day, eating American food, watching American sports, celebrating American holidays and so on :)
