In other words, which tournament would you like to host Federer's retirement event? I am in no way suggesting Federer should retire now or anytime soon, I actually think he still has a few big wins left in him (although probably no Slams) and want him to play till Wimbledon 2015, at least.

PS- No haters and trolls, please

He said he's going to play till Olympics 2016, so Rio Olympics according to me.

I am torn between Wimbledon and the World Tour Finals. While Wimbledon is the more appropriately grand event, I think he could get a lot more treatment at the World Tour Finals, with a special and big celebration in his honor.

Basel would be the best for me. It's his hometown tournament and a fitting way to go out in front of his home fans.

I think he should retire after winning Wimbledon (it could be possible, you never know). That's a very special tournament for him as it was there he won his first Grand Slam title, which gave him a boost to win many more Grand Slams and add numerous more tournament titles to his name.

Like Sampras, everyone is now writing him off based on his sub-par results. I wanna see one more...Wimby or US Open, then retire soon afterwards.

Probably Wimbledon. He won his first and possibly last majors there, won his greatest number of majors there, got to the most finals there, and it's such a classy venue for his sendoff. Though to be honest I can't see Fed not playing the USO/WTF after playing W.

I think it's a crime that he has to retire one day. May he play until the end of time???

He probably won't retire anywhere else but Wimbledon if he has to. Nadal will probably retire at RG of course.

Well, there is something to be said about playing through till the end of the season, and the Tour Finals, seeing the year out and such, but at the same time the US Open is the grandest of stages, and it'd almost feel like an anticlimax playing on after his last slam. I certainly can't see him just calling it quits after the Olympics with a major he's won multiple times just around the corner.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like the bigger name players do tend to stop at slams - Graf, Roddick, Sampras, Agassi, Navratilova, to name some recent examples. While those at a lower level go for home tournaments, and years ends and such.

The WTF. Because I want tennis to stop so all fans could see the Fed-shaped hole in this sport and feel the void creeping into their souls.

One thing is for sure. We are going to miss him for sure. Tennis might never be the same. You won't see another talent like this in our lifetime. This guy was so good that we wondered if he was an Alien.

Would like Fed and Rafa to retire at the same WTF after playing their final final. It'll never happen though.

Roger made his debut in Gstaad in 1998 so it would be fitting to end his career there in 2013. He should call it a day after 15 years with the only blot on his career being dominated by Rafael Nadal.

Yea Nadal dominated Federer and still Fed managed to beat him 10 times including 2 Wimbledon finals.

The only player Nadal dominated was *******, until Fed was young the h2h was pretty even (despite the fact that most meetings happen on clay... DUH)

    Wimbledon or Basel.

Even though WTF would be better, I don't think he will retire when he is still in the top 8.

I like Basel. That said, I think all this talk of retirement is silly. Whether he should or shouldn't is irrelevant. He's already said he's not going to retire any time soon.

I do think he may start to choose his tournaments a little more carefully from here on out.

I don't know what's so funny? It is literally the biggest in terms of size of stadia, and attendance, and more importantly it takes place in the biggest media market in the world, so the eyes of the earth are very genuinely upon it.

I would like it to be Basel.

Even if he says he plays until the 2016 Olympics... if you make it that far... are you really not going to enter the USO a few weeks later? And then at that point is it that much of a stretch to finish at a hometown event later?

If he can qualify for the WTF, that would be a good place to end it as well.... but if you're fit enough and ranked high enough to compete in that.... why wouldn't you play the AO that's only a few weeks later?

Can there be an option for USO 2012... because unless he gets out of this funk, gets healthy, gets adjusted to this new racket, and starts posting some better results everyone is going to wish he quit right then.
